thats all you can hope for now. its is no guarentee that any of these hacks will be supported. there are plenty for 3.51 already that go unsupported.

the coder will answer questions when the coder has time thats all you can ask for for free.. you want premium tech support you pay for it anywhere ......

if i go to0 my server company that i pay monthly for my dedicated server. and i say yo techs i need help doing this and that as long as they have time its fine. but if it is taking up some time they dont have its 50 an hour ..

Then why even bother to offer free support at all? Another ploy to get it to the masses under a guise of NOT being a paid hack? hmmmm.....

So this thread is going to be just a bit-ch ing session between two arcade camps then ? All this fuss over an ARCADE. Get a life people. Both are available free, end of. Make your choice and stop moaning about the other version.

edit: and for crying out loud, why is bit-ch censored

The issue went beyond just rival arcades but it is over now and a new day dawns.

There is bound to be discussion and comparison between to similar hacks, thus this thread "Arcade discussion..continued." It was posted in the LOUNGE to remove discussion from the support thread, and hopefully avoid mucking up that thread any further... that is one of the points of this thread - compare/contrast/discuss the issues surrounding the arcade hacks for vbulletin and all of the issues involved.

Personally, I feel that this hack should be offered solely on John's site, and not on this site at all - I think that several factors in his release are against the spirit of this community, and that a double-standard is being applied to this release as opposed to other releases in these regards. I think that the powers that be at vb.org should make up their minds and stick with one plan. John can't have his cake and eat it too - he can't have the support and help of this community in helping develop his hacks, yet try to make a buck off of the same community. He should take all of this stuff over to his site. His hack is great, but it doesn't belong here, and cripple-ware has no place on this site. If it does - then I feel that they should be fair and consistent and they should also allow Brian, Cinq and The Geek the same opportunity.

Wholeheartedly agree! John who is attempting to make money through the use of vb.org should be given exactly the same opportunities as others such as vbadvanced - personal recommendations and links to their sites. Either that or leave it as is with John and allow others such as vbadvanced in!

I doubt John will make much - if any - money from game sales.

Nothing in this world is free. If you want a LEGAL arcade, then you have to PAY for a game here or there, as of which is decided by the game author and not us at v3arcade.com, I might add. Similarly, additional links are added for some games because this is part of an agreement that we have with the author in exchange for offering them you guys to install.

It saddens me to see such an attitude here by some people that are showing us their true colours. The whole idea of premium games and the additional license was an attempt to find the happy medium between arcade scripts and game authors that a lot of people wanted. The $60 optional branding free option seems to have clouded many people's opinion of the system.. Believing that v3arcade is somehow against the spirit of vbulletin.org is quite rediculous.

Do you have a clue as to what you are talking about?? There is no light versions of the Vba Links and CMPS is free.....

in the rules (you know.. in the navbar above) It clarly states that lite versions are allowed.

Besides, you seem to know wo much about the rules of vb.org you should tell Xenon you want the admin job....

Lots of things are free. There's tons of free software on the internet and here at .org. I specifically mean fully functional software and services. Everyone that uses it has the same exact benefits. You have to pay John to get extra benefit. I'm shocked the "branding free" thing is actually in his release post.

Btw...

Rules Regarding Commercial/Paid Hacks:

1) You can link your commercial/paid scripts/hacks/services in your signature but without any promotional language (eg. "best", "cheapest" etc.). The signatures rules still apply to such signatures.

2) Paid hack, scripts or commercial addons can be discussed in vbulletin.org without being promoted. However, authors of the commercial hack or addon cannot start threads discussing their own products or promote it in anyway in vb.org posts. If a commercial hack discussion thread turns into a promotional thread, it will be closed or deleted. If authors are found using another account or encouraging a friend account to circumvent this rule, all accounts involved will be banned.

3) Lite versions of commercial hacks/scripts may be released here as long as:
a) The lite version is fully functional
b) The lite version is not time limited in any way

c) The lite version is completely free
d) The lite version is stand-alone and completely separate to the full version
e) A link back to the full version is allowed, as long as no price or promotional language is embedded into the lite version.

4) Addons for commercial hacks may be released here as long as:
a) A lite version of the commercial hack has been released here as per Rule (3) above.
b) The addon is fully functional
c) The addon is not time limited in any way

d) The addon is completely free
e) A link back to the full version is allowed, as long as no price or promotional language is embedded into the addon.

5) Uncommercial vbulletin hacks that integrate vbulletin into third party independent commercial software CAN be released in vbulletin.org provided that the hack thread is not created to promote the sales of the commercial product. (Independent scripts are the software that are able to run without needing vbulletin).
