I will no longer support vBulletin because of IB and the agile development, and they are not fixing bugs like they should. Instead they add bloat.

Edit: I know there are thread alignment issues that are being fixed in 4.0.2 soooo I'm not worried about it right now... waiting for Feb 4!!!
I did not edit the calendar bits at all all I do is pull the calendar bit template.

Any suggestions?
I do not know what that could be a link to your site would be great if you want help. A screen shot of your settings would be good too.
It could be another mod interfering with it.

The event details aren't appearing. I checked in mod and it says:

However, my SHOWTHREAD isn't modified at all in either my custom style or my default style. I checked the default style anyway and it's not being displayed there either.

Also, Where in SHOWTHREAD would I put $lv_vb_eventforums_eventdetails in order to try and fix this?

I will not be adding that function. As I have no use for it. Event forums should be event forums. That is just one more thing to support and explain how it works.

Ohh and the other two links don't appear correctly either. Maybe an upload issue on my end, I'll try reuploading.

EDIT: Nevermind on the reupload, was only the XML, I was thinking there were other files. So, I don't know what's wrong. =)
Those are not your RSVP buttons that are whited out. Those are your event controls move event delete event and event reminder.
That is something in your style vars you never set on that skin.

For you saying that not much of a event showed up what do you want for what you typed.

I suppose we disagree then... The benefit I see is getting events into forums which lets people see them rather than creating a seperate list of events in a new forum. But of course it's your mod and direction.

Do you object if I post the code hacks to make this work to anyone wanting to do the same?

You can post it if you like but I will not support any one who installed your code.
If you would please when you post it Post in that post that I will not support it.

It is getting hard to keep up with all the post here already. Let alone trying to support third party code in this thread.

The whole point of having an event forum, Was to have a forum/forums for your events to be posted in. Mixing event threads in with the other threads may cause a lot of issues since in an event forum this rewrites the title and also the first post is hidden and replaced with the calendar bits. Which is the whole reason I will not include it. I see it causing many issues.

I'll work on the buttons, not a big deal.

Nevermind, I got it working. Thanks.

I'm looking for the original functionality this modification provided which let sites bring events in with forum posts and did so in a very simple to use way.

Not an event? Nothing is added. Event? Add the calendar stuff. Your updated code still makes that all possible but I will extend it to display the right links to let people create threads vs events.

I fully respect your desire to keep this streamlined and won't post any code to your thread knowing the clutter having other features could cause.

However, there's no way to RSVP to an event as in the screenshot of Farcaster's mod. So when I say nothing showed up, I mean the event is there, but none of the RSVP stuff. Maybe it's a problem with his mod I'm having? I have no idea.
Post a new event after you install his modification. The option to add the event attendance is there. His mod will not work with old events only new ones.

Whilst I can see what you and Ted are both saying.

I must side with Ted on this issue, I will explain why.

Our membership are divided into joiners and idealists.

We have members happy to post events that the "membership" can join in on, and others that are happy to join in on those and discuss them in that thread.

Hence these 2 mods work seemlessly.

But !

Big BUT. We are integrating this into heavily trafficked forums, where our "idealists" post threads suggesting events !

This now means they cannot do that, and so for that reason, we have to now duplicate our event forums.

Hope that makes sense. FWIW it does the task tremedously, and I can fully understand the issue of not supporting multiple hacks and re-jigs.

But for "moi" I would like the opportunity, for our users to "suggest" events in the normal manner, of "new thread" within same forum architecture and location.

I truly do understand what your saying I just do not plan to add that any time soon. As my site does not work like that. I have forums just for events.

I really need to get some of my other mods updated that I have released. I am a father of two boys. I have a job and I need to work on my own site too. So time is very slim. I spend every extra minute I have trying to keep these mods updated. Maybe some time in the near future I will add that option. My main focus when I rewrite/write these mods is what I need for my site. I build on for others as time permits. I just try to give back to the community when I can.
