By default none usergroup has permissions to use vbfclassifieds, so you need to give permissions to any group. Goto AdminCP->Usergroups->Usergroup Manager and edit any usergroup you like to give permissions.
If you've installed vbSEO, Login into vbSEO Control Panel, click "Custom Rewrite Rules", insert rewrite rules (attached in vbseo-rules.txt to not lose formatting) and save settings.

Features of custom fields have been extended in our newest vbFEngine including the function that you asked for (set a field required). After the release of the commercial version of vbFEngine on the mid of this week, we'll upgrade vbFClassifieds with the new features for custom fields.
If vBF does not plan to interface vBFClassified with vBCredits, please at least say so. That way I, and others, don't have to be kept wondering or waiting, but can get vBClassified instead.

vBCredits is a great points system that is FREE and available on vBulletin.org. It is currently the best credits/points system available on vBulletin.org. Please download and install vBCredits to appreciate its power. No, I am not its author, just a happy user.
I've installed vBCredits which users of my forum can earn credits/points for various activities. I would like them to be able to use those credits/points, as an alternative to paying cash, to pay for their classified listings and also to buy goods and services advertised on vBFClassified.
Is this interfacing with vBCredits possible and easy to do? The vBClassified (a different, competing product to vBFClassified) already has the ability to work with vBCredits. However, if you will provide that ability also, you know you've a new customer, and very likely many more to follow, for your commercial version. I think the best implementation is to have a switch in the Admin Control Panel that can be turned on to [optionally] use the credits/points of vBCredits.
May be you guys can get in touch with the author(s) of vBCredits and cooperate? I think it can only be a win-win situation for both sides. With the interface, vBulletin owners using vBCredits will very likely choose vBFClassified for their classified needs.
Regards,
vNew
P.S.: You guys are doing great mods! Keep the momentum going!
I was wondering if it is possible to put some classified within a thread, at a special location at the home page, etc.
In other words, it would be nice to be able to position premium ads in special locations. Of course, one would want be able to set special advertising rates for such ads.

NO RESPONSE?! I think I am not the only one interested in the answers.

My dear vNew, I've to check 6 threads fisrt for replying support issues and then to email any request to the right person in our team. I'm not the one who is getting desicions.
Have patience and be sure that you'll get a reply even negative. But if you're in rush to decide right now which mod to buy, then, as you wrote, your only choice is vbClassified as they've this feature ready. Even if we decide to include this feature, it will not be ready before a month or so.

If it is a month or so, I think I can wait. Can I assume that you do plan to interface with vBCredits [as that's the key issue]?
In fact, if you do, consider you've got a sale. I offer to beta test it too. I am familiar with vBCredits and have it already installed on my forum.
I'm in the market for a Classified section so what's the difference between this and vbClassified?
I think that this is something that the end user has to check and then to decide which of them best fits on his special needs. Except if you believe that all those "Compare our super script with the others", have even a point of honesty.
We're not copying the features of other similar mods, we're developing our mods according to the features that we believe that are important for the end users and then we're upgrading them according to our clients suggestions.
Really I don't know what features vbClassifieds has.

In the next few days, we'll check the way that vBCredits works and if we find it useful, then we'll implement it to our vbFClassifieds, vbFEngine and maybe to vbFDating.
An updated version 1.0.1 of vbFClassifieds has been released. New version fixes:
Bug when a user is trying to pay for an item, where instead of the seller's PayPal email, the admin's email was appeared for payment. Thanks to JamesC70
Wrong coding. Buy it option was hidden if the price was 0. This way it was impossible to a buyer to buy an item from a seller who don't accept PayPal.
Bug. Now the Delete photo appear under the photo, so you can replace the original image.
To upgrade:
Upload vbfclassifieds.php
Re-import product-vbfclassifieds.xml (don't forget to check the overwrite option).
Please note that this version dosen't includes any feature request. This will be an upcoming upgrade.
