Aww, I really liked it, but you are right...he kicked butt in those 2 movies! He plays an awesome bad guy! HM! Really?! I never noticed that! I'm gonna watch it again today! I wonder why he wasn't in the credits? Hey, did you like American Beauty? I thought he was great, but the end really made me sad.

Another excellent Kevin Spacey movie is "The Life of David Gale" from 2003. If you see that one, let me know what you think of it. I almost felt sorry for the character in this one until I caught on to what he was doing about half-way into the movie. It makes a very powerful statement to a very touchy issue.

Gosh, I thought I had already seen that one, but upon reading the synopsis at IMDB, now I don't think I have. I know I wanted to! Another addition to my queue. Thanks again!

And Albino Alligator? Well, I'm still trying to wrap my head around that ending. Matt Dillon is so good at playing the loose cannon/creep/bad guy, doesn't he? William Fichtner's character was just scary. I'd hafta say that I liked it...it kept me wondering what would happen next. Speaking of movies that mess with your mind, have you ever seen The Machinist with Christian Bale? Great movie, but a total mind-f***! In my opinion, this was Bale's best performance ever. Keep in mind that he made this film right before Batman Begins...I'm still blown away by the differences in his physical appearance. Here's a bit of trivia about that from IMDb: "Dropped an amazing 63 pounds for his role as the emaciated insomniac Trevor Reznik in the film Maquinista, El (2004) with only a single vitamin consultation with a nutritionist to guide him. For the most part, he only ate salads and apples, chewed gum, smoked cigarettes, and drank nonfat lattes." |

Albino Alligator is definitely a Kevin Spacey direction. He brought a lot of his characterizations to that movie. The not knowing what would happen next (as in The Usual Suspects) and the graphic violence (as in Se7en). This movie will be long remembered more for Spacey's direction than anything else, I think.
I saw The Machinist and it was an OK movie. As far as it being his bewt performance ever, I would say one of his best, definitely. I don't think he has hit his true mark yet in that area. He hasn't gotten a lot of good roles yet, but I think he will in time. It'll be that one sleeper movie than makes everyone sit up and notice him. One of my favorite movies of all time is Jeremiah Johnson with Robert Redford. Troy is another good one that got passed over a lot. |

Oooh, I'm sorry you didn't like The Machinist that well.
Eeesh, the only thing I like about Troy was looking at the hot men. Never saw Jeremiah Johnson. Now, if we're talking favorites, The Shawshank Redemption is my all-time fave.:up: |
