Major Additions - Goldbrick Audio/Video Media System

Goldbrick Media system for vBulletin 3.7

Thanks to all who nominated or voted this for MOTM.

Some of you might be looking for Anymedia. Well this has replaced it. It's a total rewrite from the ground up. A huge thanks goes to Sir Adrian for creating the framework. He can't cook soup but he sure can code.

Why the name goldbrck?

From Wikipedia:

Goldbricking, in today's terms, generally refers to staff who use their work internet access for personal reasons while maintaining the appearance of working.

From Urban Dictionary:

Goldbricking: To loaf or goof around on the job. Supposedly an old union term describing laborers (or more specifically, bricklayers) who were going so slow, it was as if each brick were made of solid gold. One can alse be referred to as a "goldbricker".

Dude, I spent all day at work goldbricking - surfing the web, making long distance phone calls - basically just picking my ass.

Goldbrick uses the following third party Products:

• Highslide Javascript. I've packaged it with the 3.1 download. Please read the license agreement on highlide's website. In short it's free for non-commercial use. http://vikjavev.no/highslide/

• Complete code overhaul.

Goldbrick's Requirements:

Install Instructions:

1. Upload file contents in the upload folder.
2. Import the Product.xml

- Fixed Apple trailers

- Rewrote some of the code


Supported Video Sites: 19 so far. Looking in goldbrick/sites folder for a full list. Users can create their own. I'll post a HOW-TO with the details.

I gotta ask is there anyway currently to alow full screen flv? I have tried everyhting i can to get full screen flv to work but it doesn't bite.

After doing this, I was able to submit the link without errors. However, where is the actual video now in my profile? I cannot find it anywhere. For the record, I have all options enabled for my admin group, including "use GB in profiles..."

hey .. i have smilar hack installed called anymedia
do i need to uninstall that mod first....

or can u just explain me wats the difference between this mod and anymedia...

Download goldbrick 1.8. It's a couple of pages back.

Goldbrick is now anymedia. Download the install instructions and it will tell you want to do.

You click the tickbox and those options work.

Thanks nix, upgraded to 1.8 but still do not see anything in my profile showing the video I posted. Its not under "my media" tab either, which honestly I do not even remember if that tab is default vb or part of GB itself. However, its empty either way.

i think i m having a lil issue with this hack ...

when i put a youtube link and click post ... it dose not embed/auto phrases it

second when i try to put a vdo in my profile media tab .. i get security tokken error....
