For how long do you estimate the site to be offline during the upgrade?

That is difficult to say - How long does a normal upgrade to 3.5 take on average? How long will the modifications take to implement on average?

A couple of hours, but maybe longer :ermm:

Best people to ask are Erwin, Brad and Stefan but I'm not even sure if they can give an accurate timeframe

It took me 2 days!!! lol!
I just hope it will be only some hours for vbulletin.org, I'm addicted to it

Can I just quickly suggest that the vb.org Team get a handful of (non-team) members to give the directory a bash before it is implemented as they might highlight something that needs looking at/tweaking? (which might be better to do before it goes live).

I don't mind volunteering for this

It would also be nice to see a new smiley set with the new version.

PS: Will the new categorisation system be released as a hack?
