They might be similar but not the same at all. PHPportals used vbulletin for it's complete backend only allowing phpnuke modules to be used.
What the vast majority of people, including myself, want is something that will tie the two user tables together, but no other integration. I use postnuke myself, and they are comming out with a user system that will be the pants off of what either vB or nuke currently using. Hopefully somebody will tie into that, if not then |

I'm just starting to look into the content management systems there are out there -- and I've also looked into writing one for myself. Of course, the reason for me doing this is the idea that none of the others out there would do what I want it to do.
Bottom line: I need to integrate vB with my content mgmt system, whether I write it myself or make it "handshake" with another. I'm going to check out the major php cms's (that's what I'm calling them now... too many letters to type) this weekend, and I'll return with my call as soon as I know what it is. So I just might undertake this project myself. If anyone's interested in this, I'd be curious to know. |

Oh, and this:
Any thoughts on the varoius content management systems out there? phpNuke seems to be fairly ubiquitous, as is postNuke. I'd love to hear what you peeps have to say. |
