When do you think this will be out? Weeks, months? I am thinking of starting my groups (a few) but if this is close to working then I will definately wait.

The current groups system just peaves me. So much possibility but very little implementation.

give it too months and by then you're atleast to have seen/played with a beta. at the moment i've kinda halted progress as i'm stuck on working out how to get the vB-Editor (WYSIWYG, Standard, Enhanced) onto a couple of the pages and it aint going to well so i gotta figure this out, i even emailed someone who's done it but never got a reply so that's the major hang-up atm.

progress report, got the discussion bit coded, just need to code into that the pagenav.

got the main page coded too

got the admin moderation sorted

got the index coded and just need to implement the 'my groups' bit

basically just gotta code the edit post bit.

convert main groups management page from textarea to vBeditor

code the bit to join and leave groups oh and the group leader moderation

and that's it for the main part of the script, the rest is all add-on's like the profile and postbit integration.

something like that anyway :lol:

So whats our time lookin at?! I am ready! Also, what about Ushop support? For example I told my folks that to create a club I am going to charge them points and then for club add ons too for example like extra forums etc. Give them reasons/excuses to use their virtual cash

timeframe don't ask, i'm about to enter several fields i've never ever even thought about doing before in order to complete this hack.

uShop support, that's a good idea, great idea infact, probably best released as an add-on though i will check, that'd be one of the last things to add if i ship it as a stock option.

extra forums, this hack is currently set up to support one 'thread' per group, though it might emerge at a later date that theirs an add-on to add forums or multiple threads, it's not an option for this release due to the fact that this part of the script is modelled on Yahoo! Groups functionality rather than MSN Groups.

Very nice this MOd and this one is going to be one of the best MOD that i will install it in my board.. i hope that to see it very soon .. Released.

Yay another progress report

Stuff still to do

• private groups posting now full implemented
• sort out group members moderation, still shouldn't be too hard hoping to convert an admin script i was playing with
• sort out script to log post edits (maybe)
• do permissions
• do admin scripts
• and then optional add-on's like the profile and postbit integration and store points usage.

not forgetting the uShop integration although with that theirs a whole discussion to be had regarding the methodology of letting groups customise colours, for me it wold be so much easier to just let them have a css box and they can do their own thing (MySpace Groups style) but some people may find that overtly complicated at which point i could always say you could set up a group for that blah blah what do you all think?

as you can see i've not managed to make the list dwindle much at all as i got stuck (fixed now thanks to marco), but i'm back on track and am hoping to finish the whole of the front-end by the end of tomorrow (not including the postbit and profile integration) then it's onto admin scripts, at the moment it's looking like a quick install too. although i'm pretty sure i'll have to edit the many occurances of "../forums" but bar that a few queries, a super amount of templates which is set to grow
