[February / March 2009] BOTM Nomination Thread

This is the nomination thread for Board of the Month of December 2008 / January 2009.

Please note the BOTM Rules here:

Nominations will be accepted until the 30th of November 2008.

When nominating please post the site name, URL to the forum, a short description what makes your board stand out from default vBulletin, and a reason for nomination that will motivate others to second the nomination. If the staff feels that a nomination post is too promotional it will be edited accordingly.

Any sites without a name, URL, description and reason for nomination will NOT be entered into the poll. Please ensure that your nomination is in the format:

When seconding sites, please ensure that you use the same post for the maximum of 3 allowed seconds. Any seconds not located in your first seconding post will not be counted. Please also ensure that you quote the nomination post you are seconding in your post (Use Multi-Quote Option if you are nomination multiple boards). EDIT: Also forgot to mention our cool CSS trick for seeing if members are off/online, we've used opacity to fade the avatar if the member is offline, and it shows as normal when online.

Reason for Nomination: I would like to nominate Pit Bike Club for BOTM because I would like to see what people think of my site, and how well it gets rated.

We started back in 2006, and have over 6,000 members to this date.
I only updated the site last night, new style and layout.
We aren't just a forum, were a community of friends and pit bike enthusiasts who share knowledge and skills. We arrange meets and have a dedicated tutorial system which covers nearly every tutorial anyone will need for their bike.

We offer members a garage to upload pictures, a arcade, a video upload system and a Track Database to post track locations.

I hope people like the site, I look forward to seeing how it goes!

Reason for Nomination: Forex Factory hosts one of the largest financial vBulletin forum and has a diverse global member-base. There's an endless list of small, yet thoughtful, modifications that have been made to the stock vB. The forum structure is extremely simple, yet conducive to high activity. There are several threads with over 1 million views, and a couple on track for 10 million views. The forum is governed by three simple rules which have promoted focused and productive discussions with relatively few distractions and little commercial activity.
