Ban Users From A Thread
(Keep users out of a particular thread)

Summary:

Allows Administrators to ban a user from a particular thread.
Most useful if you have a "flame started" and you dont want to lock the entire thread or ban the user entirely - just keep them out of the thread!

vBulletin 4 version can be found here.
This is a port from the 3.6 version released last year.
You can also find a 3.5 version for this mod if you need it.

Tested on 3.7.1 PL1 & 3.7.1 PL2 - works perfectly.


Features:

1. Allows banning users from a particular thread.
2. This mod can be used by Administrators.
3. Cannot ban Mods/Supermods/Admins.
4. Can clear all bans in a particular thread, or bans from All threads.
5. Can ban/unban user from a single menu when clicking their username, or the / icons.
6. Page to display Forum Wide Thread Bans.


Instructions:

1. Download the .zip file
2. Read the guide in the README.txt document
3. Click Install if you like the mod

To-Do:

- Allow Mods/Supermods to use thread bans [optional];
- Time ban [hours, days, weeks...];
- Display ban reason when user tries to enter thread;

Great mod, can we also have an option that... other than ban user from accessing the "thread",
we can allow only certain usergroup to read,reply to the particular thread?i mean to keep lower usergorup out from particular thread?.. So this will encourage users to do quality posting , so that they will be promoted to other higher level of usergroup and then only can access to the thread. Because certain thread ,maybe we wan't to give some exclusivity e.g gossip, secret ... to the thread

Does anyone know if there is a compatible version for 3.8?

My friend just tried installing this and got this error message

The following dependencies were not met:

1. This product is not compatible with version 3.8.2 of vBulletin. (Compatible starting with 3.7.0 / Incompatible with 3.7.99 and greater)

Seems to be working just fine on 3.8.2..

To install it, edit the product and find and delete this:

maxversion="3.7.99"

My board is similar to this one, if you click someones username it goes to there profile and not to quick user options.... Help would be appreciated.

I tested it on vBulletin 3.8.2 and it doesn't seam to work. Actually nothing appears to me, although I have already deleted the "maxversion"

Any idea what should I do to make it work?

works fine on 3.8.3 .. just gotta change the maxversion
