Shoutbox Hack 1.04b

11/09/04 - Version 1.04b. Just an installer upgrade, nothing more. Nothing to see here, move along.

10/22/04 - Version 1.04a released. This is not an upgrade from 1.04. If you already have 1.04 installed, don't worry about this. This release just updates the installer and fixes any errors in it. If you had problems installing it last time, this should work better. If you need support, posting it here may get it answered, though posting at the board at GeekyDesigns.com is prefered.

This is the same hack formerly released by Link14716.

08/29/04: Shoutbox 1.04 is released, featuring a new installer system (using the Hack Installer System) and redone templates, as well as a few bug fixes. Enjoy.

Dont forget to click install!

Install Instructions:

NEW INSTALL/UPGRADE FROM 1.03 to Current
 
 1. Upload the contents of the 'upload' folder to your forums directory.
 2. Run http://www.yoursite.com/forums/install/hack_install.php
 3. Select "Shoutbox Hack" and then follow the instructions to install.
 4. Follow the directions in the readme files when it gets to that step, then finalize the install (by clicking the last link in the install).
 5. Enjoy your shoutbox!

Matrixgl did a template modification to make the shoutbit more like its vB2 counterpart and released it (tested on 1.03) here.

FOR THOSE WHO WANT SUPPORT, SPECIFY THIS INFORMATION OR BE IGNORED:

What is the exact error you recieve?
Where does the supposed error happen?
What vB version are you running?

I get that error message at the end of the install. There are no files to edit.

Guys...as you can see, this is a on going problem, yet there have been no TRUE fixes for it for 3.0.7!

I have given up...this is a great asset for any board and it shows that alot of boards use it, but NO ONE HAS MADE ANY EFFORT nor REPLY on how to fix this problem...

This is not good business!!!

Yet either way I love vBulletin and vPortal 1000% and will continue to use them!

This is the second shoutbox that I have tried to install. In both situations, another vbb user and I determined that it doesn't work right in 3.0.7. I didn't realize it was so bleeding edge when I bought it.

PS...if any of you would like fo rme to help ya out i would be more than happy to edit what needs to be edited to get this working for ya....i know its hard to trust someone especially with all the peeps that hang on the internet...but i am here for ya if you all need help...i have become real good at editing what needs to be edited with the codes and look real good for anything i have maybe made a mistake with and correct it...the peeps here at .org are very very good peeps and provide alot for all of us to run their boards...but they do get busy busy...so some of us a smembers have to try and offer up help to each other.....so i offer up help to anyone...i have installed arcade and shoutbox flawlessly without any errors...but i am sorry if i myself cant assist you all any further by way of troubleshooting....but i can edit some code damn well...good luck to you all and i will try my hardest to troubleshoot the problems you guys are having...

hmmm...they are actually in the installer itself...if im not mistaken, at the very end you have to look real close because the edits that are necessary are via small print hyper link which then displays the files to be edited upon clicking the link...its kinda tricky in the way that you have to really look for that link...and if im not mistaken it is at the very end where you say no files to be edited...just below the first phrase i think
