Detailed features

Following is a non-exhaustive list:

• Simple install
• Ajax based with:
  • Fast and Intelligent chats retrieval through javascript calls to server files (refresh delay configurable per usergroup)
  • Edit/update by double-clicking on a chat
  • Interact on chats through menus and javascript
• Many usergroup permissions to limit features according to usergroups
• Full configuration of the chatbox display:
  Size, position on forum pages, editor layout (either top/bottom input or left/right textarea) and position, number of chats displayed, ...

When you are on any page with the chatbox active, just type this in the browser address bar:
javascript:display_channel(1);

Change the number around to go to other channels.

I tested this in FF latest version.

The current functionality only adds a button to a channel. The only thing that stops someone from entering a restricted channel is that the button is gone. The code to go to the channel still works, as there are no permission checks for the function.

How to unsinstall the Addon?
If I just uninstall it in admin-panel, it isn't well done.
In usergroups are even then anymore rows, and the sql-syntax is wrong.
Here is a Screenshot of the Admin-Panel Usergroupmanagement:

But, it also explains how to uninstall this product.

Can anyone tell me where the option is to change the automatic refresh time for the chatbox? I've gone through the entire section in the admincp at least a dozen times now, and can't find it.

I was about to install this but saw in the instructions that you want me to overwrite my forums' language file? That makes me a little nervous...

I'm sure it's for phrases and such but why doesn't the product import those, as is usually done?

Also, the reason I wanted to try this over vSA is because Valter's chatbox doesn't work with the custom pages mod. I want the chatbox directly on a custom page, not anywhere else on the forum. Would that be possible with this?

One more thing - the demo link to the forumcoding forums leads you to an index with no relevant links to any chatbox demo, unless I missed something?

Yeah, that took me quite a while to figure out as well. IIRC, it's in Usergroups permissions.

Anyone else experiencing an issue when logging off that results in the following error?

which points to
var chatid = jchats[i].getElementsByTagName('chatid')[0].firstChild.nodeValue;

I have a custom template or two but even if switched to the defaults, the log off hangs with the chat window attempting to display (I have the site set to not allow unregistered to see the chat so maybe that's responsible?)

I also noticed that my private chat tab was missing it's cross icon.

label: tabusername + ' <span class="close"><img src="mgc_cb_evo/clientscript/cross.png" border="0" /></span>', fixed that one.

I think the path was reversed initially?

Any clues on how to get the log off to behave?

You had released a patch for this specific problem, but after an upgrade of the plugin was fixed.

Maybe some bug is resolved by placing too

However you have some ideas on how to solve this problem?
