Project Description

This is the latest version of Inferno vBShout LITE, the free version of our Inferno vBShout Pro product (see above link). Those who were running 1.0.1 Lite will find a lot of useful upgrades and additions, including aesthetic changes and many bug fixes and most importantly a huge decrease in server load and bandwidth consumption.

Additional Features

Auto-Idle
The auto-idle system will drastically lower server load on sites with many users on at the same time. It allows you to automatically set the user to "idle" in the shoutbox, meaning the shoutbox will load shouts once, then idle the user until the click the unidle button or make a shout. Afterwards they will idle as normal (as set in the ACP).

Shoutbox Advanced Optimised Protocol
The Shoutbox AOP is a brand new feature that when turned on will dramatically cut server resources/bandwidth used by the shoutbox. Instead of the shoutbox refreshing every X seconds to check if there is new data, it will know when there is new data and only refresh then, meaning when there is no activity in the shoutbox, no resources will be consumed, or bandwidth.

Shoutbox Low Level Logging
The shoutbox low level logging system will provide you with a log of shout edits, deletes, bans, unbans, notices and remove notice commands. This will help you keep track of commands being used in the shoutbox. This can be turned off.

Private Message System
When clicking a username in the shoutbox, it will now open a new "tab" (This is a shoutbox tab, not a browser tab). In this tab you will be able to privately chat to the member where only they and you will see the messages. This helps split private chats and the main chat, and you can have as many private chats open as you like!



vBSEO Issues?
If you're encountering issues with vBSEO this is most likely due to the option within vBSEO to "clean html", you do not need to turn this option off, but you will need to change the plugin for vBShout. Go to the Plugin Manager within your ACP, and find the plugin: "Inferno Shoutbox: Deploy Shoutbox". Edit this plugin, and where you see the option "Execution Order", set this to 1 and save, you should no longer encounter issues.

can anyone tell me how can I change the length of history display messages? Users write on my shoutbox very fast and i need min 30 messages history.

And how can I change height of shoutbox?

Still just sits there and says loading. Works on my test site with default style, but doesn't work on live site with custom style. There shouldnt be a difference right?

Running 3.7 on both sites.

You need to go through the code and look for these variables.

Double clicking a msg while its in the shoutbox will allow u to edit or delete

No your custom style needs to be updated, your custom style probally gives tons of errors. You should do a template comparison and update it.

If you go into the "settings" table and sort by product. You will find a product called _inferno_shoutbox. Int he column called "value" you will find the words array. They dont belong there. You will need to replacement them with their proper #'s.

For bbcode use the following #'s. Add them up to get the total value # you need to put in depending on what options you want on. I use 639.

  8 => 'Allow Font BBCode',
  16 => 'Allow Alignment BBCode',
  32 => 'Allow List BBCode',
  64 => 'Allow Link BBCode',
  128 => 'Allow Code BBCode',
  256 => 'Allow PHP BBCode',
  512 => 'Allow HTML BBCode'

You will also need to manually input your usergroups. Here you put in the usergroup #'s seperated by the usergroups. Example

4,8,195,1,3

Now go into your vbulletin admin CP > vbulletin options > vbulletin options > backup / restore settings. Please note this is not on the drop down menu its to the left of it.
Now export your vbshout settings and then reimport them. This is how we fixed it our board. I can not guarentee this will work for you but feel free to ask questions.

Its in the database. If you have phpmyadmin you can edit the database from there.

Settings is the name of the table.

So you meant by that go to my phpDB/setting/ then search for inferno_shoutbox then add/edit the Mods you mention earlier.

Right?

After i open setting I search for: inferno_shoutbox i got the below error:

You got it wrong, you have to type it in "grouptitle" FIELDS not "Add search conditions (body of the "where" clause):"

You can find it a little further down. Type it into the same row, to the right of the word "LIKE" in the "value" box.
