This hack extends the existing reputation display system from just the light/dark green pips to green and golden pips, and then golden stars as the pips limit is reached.
The dark green pips are followed by light green pips, which are then followed by 'golden' pips. When the limit these can display is reached, the display is prefixed by a golden Star, and started again. If your reputation is zero then the neutral grey pip is displayed. Negative reputations are displayed in a similar manner using light and dark red pips and stars.
Each time you 'lap' the limit of the pips display, another star is added. The number of stars in unlimited. The number and value of the pips in each group of pips is defined by six settings in the vboptions > reputation options. The supplied default values will display 5 dark green, 5 light green and 10 golden pips before a star is displayed. The golden pips kick in at 2,000 points and it takes 10,000 points to get a star (so 20,000 for two etc ...). A line break can be inserted after the stars.
The extended display system can be enabled/disabled in the options.
Just follow the install instructions in the zip file to install this product.

Just installed, so simple! Love it, thanks! I'll be changing the images, though, since they're made for a white background and I have both light and dark. Doesn't anyone use transparency anymore?
Okay, I just made new images. They don't have rounded corners (so any background will work fine, although the border is still black), and instead of gold I did a brighter green. So it's just a series of green, and I like them.
I have attached them to this post if anyone wants them. They are named the same, so you can simply overwrite your old ones. I did not include new "stars" because I'm going to use yo-yos, as it's a yo-yo forum.
Obviously the names don't make sense anymore, since "gold" is actually green. Paul M, maybe in future versions you'll name them something generic, like "pip-1," pip-2," etc. and "large-pip," or something like that. If you'd like to include these pips that I made in your zip as an alternative, feel free.
The stars have a transparant background - I didn't realise the pips did not, I'll look into that when I have a spare moment. As for the names - the point of this was to add the golden pips, so I'm not going to change the names.

Well I thought the point of it was to give way more options as well as adding larger pips (stars)--that's why I installed it. No one is really using the reputation system on my forum because everyone still has one pip under the default system. With this mod I can set it way lower so people can see what's happening, and then scale the settings later.
This is not designed to affect the images in the usercp, you should not remove the old images as that display still uses them, just upload the new ones.

*smacks self* Cant believe I didnt think of that, lol.
The make sure I have file called reputation_goldorb.gif uploaded. Will that work? Same for the reds, if I change it to redorb (orb being an example) will they work or is there more that needs to be done?
I'm not very familiar with the new plugins etc that 3.5 has.
