The UK uses both
- Older people use Metric, Younger people do not...

How did you invent English when you kept getting whacked by other nations who added their words to "English"?
America whacked you in the revolutionary war, so the trend continues

Quite simply - We used the conglomeration of all the languages over time, and invented English, then the Puritans got eggy because we didn't want them, and fled to the "New World", and spawned a bunch of bad-spellers

The could always solve the problem altogether by making two languages - US English and UK English, one which uses color (the correct American spelling) and one that uses colour (the correct UK spelling of course). America has to be different, that's why we drive on the right (as in the opposite of left) side of the road and changed some spellings, plus we don't use the metric system, and that makes America the only country that doesn't use the metric system I believe?

English is what people in the UK/Canada/Ireland speak, as it originates from the
English Language and it's
rules, which is spoken by residents of
England...
There is no such thing as
US English, as that in itself is a contradiction

Link you're wrong on some points.
Driving on the right side is normal in most countries, just UK, Japan and Australia want to be different (At least i think they are just these 3)
Also the nonmetric system is used in UK, too, so no difference between US and UK there

Don't forget Ireland
