This Mod: adds an info icon below a members post.
It grabs the IP of the poster ( their post.ip )
By clicking it a new window opens up and displays the users Geo Location.
This is our MOST popular Modification for our admins, and allows them to track trace and locate users at ANY time.
To Install:
Upload the Image folder to your forum root. Allow merge.
Goto AdminCP>Plugins and Products>Add/Import Product
Navigate to: product-australiabound_iplookup.xml
Import
Done !
Nothing more to do.
ENJOY
When a moderator/admin staff clicks on the icon. A new window opens with google map, and the users ip location is displayed.
NO TEMPLATE EDITS !
Quote:
"There is nothing worse is there:
1. a new member posts
2. you hover over the IP button in their post
3. you then have to go into admincp , users, enter their username, grab the ip address
4. then open a whois ip lookup
5. paste the ip in
6. check them out
This REMOVES all that crap. Just click the Ip Icon
Wednesday 28th April: Updated product file. Thanks to BasilRath and Djbaxter
Nice mod, thanks .... but have some kind of a cosmetic problem with the display of the icon ..
Fixed the first problem with path to icon, but there color (style CSS?) match is odd for our background. It's white and we need to have it blend better.
Anyone know how to clear this up before I uninstall?
Thanks ..

Badger
Edit the image in a garphics editor to make it transparent, or if you can't do that match the background to the background of your style.
Appreciate the attempt, but it still seems to be a white box with the blue icon in the middle. (see pic) .....
I think you're right that I need the blue icon with a transparent background. I've just spent the last few hours searching the net for a Mac program that would let me work with icons. I found and downloaded several, but none of them permit a transparent background thing.
Perhaps it's the realm of very expensive graphics packages?

OK. That was a quick attempt only from my laptop. Will redo at home on my desktop later.
I think the pic is fine and the background is transparent. I beginning to think that the problem is the way the mod has been implemented, as I'm pretty sure now the square area showing white behind it is actually part of a larger field.
If you look at the other items on the same postbit bottom line, there's several that have both the graphic pic and a phrase that represent in totality a piece of information with a link.
I think the author needs to look at how he uses the pic here, as it seems to be the ONLY item across that line that I can right click and save the pic, whereas the other items are integrated together and the pic is part of a larger entity. For example, the "Thank You" icon next to the INFO mod can't be clicked on in any way to save the "thumbsup" graphic.

Am I explaining that clearly?

I see what you mean. I'm afraid this is beyond me... not sure what needs to be done.
