This hack will show how many new posts/threads have been posted in forums since your 'last visit'. New posts are checked via AJAX, manually or in defined time interval. Optionally you can enable and configure Smart Search Menu to give users ability to search individual forum sections. View screenshots...

Installation:
Import product XML: AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]

To set options:
Go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > VSa - Advanced 'New Posts'

Counts the threads and posts made no matter what in the 24 hour period I do believe. I want this mod to be that of the same as Paul's then this one would rock.

Any word on whether this mod will be fixed to display actual unread posts for the user?

That's what I wanted to see just the unread posts and after you read it, it will reset the unread posts.

Yes exactly. I had to disable this mod because it was causing a lot of confusion. Members with NO unread posts still had their New Posts count incrementing.

Nevermind! I got it to work, but I do have another question. How do I keep the New Posts In option when it moved over to the What's New tab? Is that possible? Great mod, btw! Thanks!

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I've uploaded this, followed all the instructions, but nothing is showing up. I just updated tonight and I had the older version of this and it worked fine, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Kind of a crappy screenshot, but...

on vBulletin 4.0.1 it's showing the link, but when i click on the lime color link, that link does not work to me.

1. i cant click on the info
2. it dont show up in "whats new"
