This modification is no longer available or supported. Note: I no longer use Flashchat, and development and support of it at Tufat appears to have died in 2010. vBulletin 4.x Version ** This is not compatible with vBulletin 4.0.7 or Less ** Please remember to click Mark as Installed if you use this modification. Please fee free to nominate this modification for the MOTM, and/or use the donate link provided (Support Developer). This is a simple display of who is currently chatting in FlashChat - on the forum homepage display. Note: This modification is for Flashchat 6, it will not work with Flashchat 4, and may not work with Flashchat 5. The main features are ; 1. It displays the list on Forum Home with the "Users online" display. 2. The list view is collapsable, so you see just the number. 3. Users who should display as coloured or bold etc are displayed correctly (based on the display usergroup) 4. If you 'hover' over a username it will show the room they are chatting in and their status (away etc). 5. If the chat is empty, a simple "no one is chatting" message is displayed. 6. The option to record and display the Most Ever chatters can be enabled. 7. The ability to turn it on/off is in the ACP Options. 8. The ability to allow only certain usergroups to view the list is an ACP option (include or exclude groups). Added in v4.0.2 9. The list view can be set to be always collapsed on page load. 10. The mod will try and detect if Flashchat is installed, and display an error if not. (Options are located in vBulletin Options > Who Is Using Flashchat). Unzip the XML and import into vB using the ACP Product Manager. Further Notes: This hack cannot display any bots in the chat, due to the strange way that Flashchat stores this information. I have no connection with the Flashchat product - if you have questions about Flashchat functionality then their forums are located here. Support This modification is not supported. This has been updated for style changes introduced in vBulletin 4.0.8. It will probably look ok in older versions, but will not be perfect. Thanks guys.
I've ended up hacking the navbar code to put a link to the chat as a navtab. The members will just have to do without knowing how many are in there, or go to the front page. |

I want to move up a part of the Whats going on. Online Users AND the Chatters online should be under the navbar. Any idea how I have to change the template Forumhome?

Can you make it as a forum sideblock?

The hack would have to be re written for it to work within a sidebar but works very well as the picture shows in post #48 with the flashing icon and members displayed.

That would need a new modification to be released, and tbh, I havent seen enough demand for such a release - in fact, you may be the first person to ask.

Paul, it its true, if the chat display sits down under the forum everone has to scroll down all 2 minutes to have a look. If it ist above the forums ist better, basilraths solution is very good. With the former hacks we could teke the variable and put it anywhere, as I am using VBCMS I put it it in their online module leftside.
