Is that so? The economy wasn't in the tank when he started his campaign. He must have seen in his crystal ball the Dow would take it's worse inauguration day dive in history...says alot about what businesses and investors think are going to happen to them with him in office.

More double speak...he and his minions in the Congress believe and are already acting in the complete opposite. How on earth can anyone say a Democrat doesn't think and act like government is the end all, be all to every need?

Well duh, doesn't take a genius to figure that out. What he has already proposed to do will do nothing to promote this "philosophy" rather dig us, my kids and their kids deeper in the hole and more dependent on government for their basic needs.

More double speak - translation: the "green elites" will get filthy rich off this carbon credit scam coming your way.

Um, the economy has been on a steady decline for some time now.

You know, I've found partisan rhetoric doesn't advance the conversation at all. It's not constructive. Sensible people know that some problems can't be fixed by government, like government can't make young fathers be responsible, nor can it make teenagers show good judgment with the choices in life. Tha't something a family has to make a priority to teach. Similarly, if a good chunk of the country's population are being responsible with their budgets and the resources they consume, then of course that will contribute to fixing the overall problem. You just saying "naw, he's not going to do it because he's a Democrat" isn't even a counterargument.

And what would that be specifically? Again, your just saying "it won't work" but not really offering a logical argument as to why, other then he's a Democrat.

Again, what does that mean?

And that is the cliche of all statements that someone makes when they have no actual logical argument against someone they disagree with. Do you know who is also fond of the term "lemmings" as an epithet? The neo-Nazis. They call white people who go along with diversity lemmings, because they have no actual argument as to why they think blacks are ignorant and Jews are evil. So please, don't insult me and a whole group of people just because you don't agree with them. Make your case rationally, and even if we don't agree with you, we will at least see where your coming from. That's why we left name calling behind in high school, because they don't respect you in the real world when you resort to grade school shenanigans.

I'm not ashamed of Gitmo... because I'm been very embarrassed since Abu Ghraib!

Fomer Gitmo staff has been reporting a lot of the same, or similar treatment.

Yes, I agree. But Gitmo will be just as bad if not worse. We just don't have the pics to exaserbate those feelings of dismay. What they were saying the did to that one guy (I think it was Khalid Sheikh Mohammed) put his heart rate so low he almost died.

Geez.

As Wayne put it (brilliantly): To detain people without due process is a direct violation of core fundamentals that made America what it was. To think we should imprison people without trial just in case they are bad guys is sooo 1984 and so inherently wrong just like invading a country under unproven, false propaganda is wrong.

Like him or hate him, at least Obama is performing his moral duty to try and set some things to right that have been allowed to skate by because a society in fear is a society that can be controlled and manipulated. Better that than more of the same old same old that we get from the last president.

Being an American living in the UK I can say that the behaviour of the US over the past 8 years would have shamed and terrified the very founding fathers of our country.

Whether the honeymoon lasts with Obama is irrelevant. He has at least started to do the things that a leader should do and has started to execute the agenda that the American citizens voted him in on. People love to be pessimists. The people that came up with the idea of imprisoning people without due process share the same outlook on life but oddly would most likely scream the loudest if they were thrown into a prison 'just in case they became a bad guy'.

Hey! what are you coding lately?!

back to the topic: So cleaning Bush mishaps makes the guy a saint? [don't take it out of proportion]

ask a guy who had married many times, and he will tell you everything seems hopeful and promising at the beginning... good marriages end in the grave

Or ask a guy who's had a successful marriage, that if every one is working for the same goals and communication is kept open, then you will achieve more then if you both just do things on your own. Of course a good marriage will end up in the grave, if you keep making the same mistakes over and over again.

I love how you americans (I have nothing against you) time & time again try to take the morale ground from the comfort of your homes, and hold on to values your country hasn't met for well... let's say ever. It's all words. infact, most of the righteous crap spoken in here is from arms length, from a distance so to speak.

Here's a direct question. Would you have one of the terrorists or yet to be determined terrorists living next door to you? I think the answer to that question is no. Yet again, words and quoting text is simply a load of ole BS imo. While we are at it, why not reform the rapists and allocate them to your local friendly neighbourhood, yes? let's allocate them next to our schools (oh jeepers, we have). While we are at it, why not just round up children and thow in a pheadophile and lets talk and comment about it at arms length.

Would you have a reformed rapist living next door to you? Mingling amongst your children? Why not give them a chance huh. Personally, a bullet in the head is the cheaper solution. but I'm betting you wouldn't be post the american version of the ten commandments if that were the case.

It's not that I am against some of the policies, Some of them are just fairy tale agenda orientated crap to yet again pull you gullible lot in and thus quoting scriptures from days long past.

I dunno, when the time comes again (i won't go into that comment) but you'll have to blame yourselves yet again. I'm not a big fan of bush, but the best thing he did was to remove sadaam from power even if it didn't directly benefit you americans. As for obama, well, I'm quite excited to see how this little episode pans out for you lot and then blame yourselves yet again for voting him in power.
