|| # -------------- USER SPECIFIC USERNAME HTML MARKUP -------------- # ||
|| # ---------------------- CREATED BY OPSERTY----------------------- # ||
|| # This modification may not be redistributed without prior consent # ||
\*================================================ ======================*/

What does this modification do?
This modification allows users to specify their 'own' HTMLwhich surrounds their username. It is similar to that which is used for the Usergroup HTML Markup, however this modification is more restrictive. (Note: Markup is only applied in cases where the Usergroup Markup is typically applied).

Features:
  • Users can choose:
    • Italics
    • Bold
    • SmallCaps
    • Text Decoration
      • Underline
      • Overline
      • StrikeThrough
    • Font Color
    • Background Color
    • Font Family/Face
  • Admins can choose to:
    • Global Enable/Disable
    • Ban Certain Users
    • Ban Certain Font Colors
    • Enable/Disable each Option globally
    • Enable/Disable each Option Per Usergroup
    • Choose whether User HTML Markup overrides Usergroup HTML Markup
To install:
  1. Upload Files
    • Upload functions_op_user_html_markup.php to the '/includes/' directory of your forum
    • Upload bitfield_op_user_html_markup.xml to the '/includes/xml/' directory of your forum
  2. Import Product
    • Import the product as normal through the AdminCP. AdminCP > Plugins & Products > Manage Products
  3. Accessing Product
    • To use this product the user can find the options listed on the UserCP > Edit Options page.
Troubleshooting & Common Problems
  • If you forget to upload the files before importing the product, simply upload the files and then visit the AdminCP > Usergroups > Usergroup Manager page. (This is required to rebuild the bitfield cache after uploading a file). This only needs to be done if you do not upload the files before the import.

I was referring to this as an admin-only option. Something in the admincp under a given user's edit profile screen that can override the user's choice or the user's respective usergroup markup. I would never suggest something that involved user-inputted HTML.

You weren't specific in your initial post so one would assume you mean't user-inputted HTML.

Really all i want is the border, and Opserty, the decoration still kinda buggy, overline & underline/strike through doesn't work still...for me anyway.

Oh my...

You just solved a major issue for my staff and my members. We wanted to be able to give our Senior Members the ability to have custom colored names, while still somehow retaining the difference between Staff and member.

I installed your product and set it up.

We've set all the staff to SMALLCAPS and made BOLD + a staff color unavailable to anyone else. We definitely stand out from the Senior Members who also now have their colorful names.

Seriously! THIS IS EXACTLY what I was looking for, AND MORE.

Works PERFECTLY on 3.7.2 and install took maybe... 20 seconds?

Awesome. Just awesome. 5 stars. Thanks!

Lady Azriel: Ok I will consider your request and see what I can do then.

NegativeSmoke: I'm pretty sure I fixed this error, make sure you imported the XML and selected "Allow Overwrite".

harlita: Glad I could be of help

Would it be possible for you to create in the future, a MOD that allows Administrators to specify a user's username HTML markup on an individual-user-basis? Rather than having to move the user into a whole new group with the username markup settings?

Thanks

You can do that now via admin CP > Edit user....

Edit: wait, nvm, doesn't work, yeah this would be a good idea.

I think it shoud give users a choice of already made colors. Cause they could always pick a color code really close to an admin color. Even if you ban the direct color

EagleNick I think if you set the usergroup permissions for that usergroup "Can use Username Markup" to yes. Yet leave the rest of the options disabled you should be able to edit the markup via. the "Edit User" option in the AdminCP.

Koushukei
That would probably be a very long list though. I guess I could look into it.

I didn't think of that, but yeah I'm assuming it should work, too.
Thanks!

How do I reset the usernames back to original, default mark-up?
For instance, my forum administrators have an ADM- prefix, however, this is removed when they customize their mark-up and I can't figure out how to reset it...?
