[BOTM June 2007] Nominations Thread

This is the nomination thread for Board of the Month June.

Nominations will be accepted until the 31th of May . Also, please note, that the current voting thread for BOTM May will remain open as well until the 31th of May.

When nominating please post the site name, URL to the forum, a short description what makes your board stand out from default vBulletin, and a reason for nomination that will motivate others to second the nomination. If the staff feels that a nomination post is too promotional it will be edited accordingly.

Any sites without a name, URL, description and reason for nomination will NOT be entered into the poll. Please ensure that your nomination is in the format:

t's a dutch forum where people can post their computer problems or questions, u can find also tips and manuals, freeware etc.

Since this week we exist 1 year and have now 273 registered members and 10700 posts.

Now i a have created the portal page, i shall explain in english whats on it :-) so u understand it

first of all on the portal, we say what the site is.
in the left menu u see 'welkom gids', thats a welcome guide for new members with the explanation for how to use the forums

the other links are info about premium membership and advertising, linkpartners, etc.

the is also a block with the latest download.

I have customized completely self, we are running vbulletin only 2 month so i hope u like it i did my best so i could help out many people

It's entirely member driven, even the the ads are for members only businesses.

I hope I did that right! Now to hope the forum gender bias doesn't kill our chances

Who Am I: I'm a 15-year-old developer and designer from Oman, I've always loved website designing and PHP scripting and I've always been a fan of vBulletin, I first knew vBulletin somewhere in 2002 and I've always dreamed to have a website of my own with a vBulletin forum to be my community solution, that dream came true in 2006 when I was able to pay bills for my site and my vBulletin license with the help of everyone who supported me.

Everything is designed by me and I'm happy with vBulletin, it made my site very successful.
I have some experience in PHP scripting language and MySQL database.
I would love to be nominated alteast once as the board of the month, I hope it can be true this time.

Description: Since it's inception it has evolved to become a fully fledged FC Barcelona internet community, run by its members to serve the members themselves.

BarcaClub.net is an independent website dedicated to FC Barcelona, and the main intension is to provide all the latest news, results, and information.

The aim of BarcaClub.net is to enable and promote global communication between FC Barcelona fans from around the world.

Since the start in 27 July 2006 as a focused FC Barcelona message board, BarcaClub.net have developed into encompassing a lot of other areas of interest to its members. In fact BarcaClub.net is essentially made and managed by its members, which means that it is ever evolving around what the members want and like.

Reason for Nomination: I think BarcaClub.net is different than the other soccer club websites, it makes you feel as if you are in the club itself and at the same time not only discuss about what's going on in the club, we also discuss about whatever we want.
This is a real community, with unlimited attachment uploads and several administrators who will keep the site running smooth 24 hours a day.

Description: Our site is dedicated to promote the Dominican culinary culture. With hundreds of recipes (all with photos), articles, tips and tricks and an active community we are by far the largest repository of information on Dominican cooking in any type of media. We opened five years ago and almost a year ago migrated the entire site from html to a heavily modified version of vBulletin that mimicked the old structure of our site.

Both our sites (one in English, one in Spanish) share the same user database.

Reason for Nomination: It is a different site from your typical vBulletin forum. We have an active forum, but each section of the site is independent yet running on vB. It is mostly based on template modifications.

the skin is nice but the formatting is horrible. the blocks on one side are small the resolution is set huge.

for someone on a 800 x 600 or even 1024 x 768 resolution alot of scrolling.
