Not easily. You'd have to modify the code quite a bit. It currently doesn't count the number of subforums which it would need to do in order to create equally sized columns if doing it vertically. Doing it horizontally like it currently does this wasn't a necessity.

Hello,

This is a great, but I was wondering if there's a way to make the a dropdown menu instead. I have a found that has 26 subforums and that's way to many to list.

Hello,

I recently added a bunch of new forums and external links etc.. So I added the forum ID's to the Disable in Forums... but they still show up.

The setting in this mod you are referring to "Disable In Forums" means to not put into columns and to show the forum and it's subforums as vB normally does. It has nothing to do with the actual hiding of a forum.

If you are looking to hide a forum or forums that setting is in the Forum Manager. In Forum Manager select the forum and set "Forum Is Active" to No.

What I was trying to do is only hide the sub forum display on selected forums because of the number of sub forums. Yet display it for the ones I want it to display.

I see what you are trying to do, but unfortunately neither this mod nor vB will do that. There may be another mod out there, but I'm not familiar with one.

The setting in vB is under Options - Forum Listings Display Options - Depth of Forums - Forum Home. The vB option is a single setting universal to all forums. What you are looking for is a per forum setting for "depth".
