[DBTech] Dragonbyte Gallery v1 (vB4)
Developer Last Online: Mar 2023
Dragonbyte Gallery is a fully functional gallery system addon for your forum that will allow your users to create their own photo albums to store and display their images. You can run multiple instance of the gallery on the same site with the same files, yet have a completely different look and function because of the modular sytem it was built on. Users can customize how their gallery profile is displayed on each instance.

Each instance can have a different look and feel to it, and with enough work can have a completely different function because of the system we built it on. AJAX integration We used AJAX wherever we could to help reduce the page reloads Automatic resizing and thumbnail creation As long as your server can handle it, the users can upload whatever size pictures they want. The gallery will control the size displayed and stored, and will even create a thumbnail, all automatically. Users no longer have to worry about resizing their images to fit what your forum specifies. If you do not have a server with the power to resize images (GD image library can get pretty memory intensive) then you can set the gallery to reject images that do not fit into your size criteria. User Albums Users can create their own image albums to organize and display sets of their images. Albums can also be set to hidden and/or password protected. So users who want to have images for only certain friends or not visible to anyone else at all can easily organize them. Complete Feature List (Lite)

I sure was excited when in installed this. Still am but having a problem.
When I upload a jpg or png type file I get an error message: Not a supported file type (allowed is gif, jpeg and png) I tried with two different browsers. hope you can tell me what I've probably done wrong. Thanks, Rusty |

They were set, I did look there and every where. I failed to upload the file that goes in the root the first time I installed and I think that got me off on the wrong footing. I uploaded all the files again and that fixed it on the next install.
I have a new problem. I tried on three browsers. The categories are not showing up in the box for categories on the home gallery page. They did show up on the other two installs. Any suggestions? Thanks, Rusty |

I have a suggestion. Put it in the pro version if you like. Many people that do pictures use Lightroom. It would be very nice if the plugin would pull in IPTC data which is the description, caption/headline, location and more. Would be sooooo nice to have that.
Like many others, it is hard for me to understand why this is not a part of vB. Thanks so much for making it a part. Is there an addon for vB experience to add points to user activity? That would be great too. I'm headed to look for it but figure it would be listed here. I'm good at suggestions, if only I could program. |

I'll download the trial for lightroom and see if I can figure out where the data is and capture it. There isn't a vB experience addon for this. Dylan |

Nope, I didn't. Categories are still blank.
Should the descriptions be showing? It looks like there is a space under the photos for that but they are not there. I see the same thing in Groups though so it may not be your issue? |

I'm going to take this up with you on your forum. So don't answer here.
