Thread Prefixes
Version: 1.6.2 vBulletin Version: 3.6.10 Developer: Michael (Mystics) Koenig (www.vbulletin-germany.com) Modification-Language: English & German & French (thanks to ReadWrite - Note: Readme has not yet been translated to french.) Install-difficulty: Medium File-edits: 5 Template-edits: 10 Brief Description of the Modification This modification allows your users to choose a thread prefix for each thread. To do this you are able to select an appropriate prefix from a list beside the title while posting a new thread - for example 'Help', 'Problem', 'Search' etc. This prefix will be displayed in front of the thread title. The result will be for example: Problem - I can't find this setting Problem is the thread prefix, I can't find this setting is the title of the thread. The prefixes displayed in this list may be defined by a moderator for each of his moderated forums (Forum Tools -> Manage Thread Prefixes); of course an administrator and a super moderator is allowed to do this for every forum. 3.8.x has its own prefix implementation.

I'm not aware that Vbulletin has a feature like this.
I want to add tags to the title like this. Does this plugin provides that? |

Is there any way to create a permanent link to the results of a Prefix Search?
The XML for the prefix search functionality uses some kind of override on a User Search when a certain string is present to search for prefixes instead. If you just input the string manually, though, (like via a do=process search to make a permanent link!) it seems to fail to execute the override correctly and returns search results of every single thread on your forum. This has an added debilitating side effect of creating a broken searchid result, and then when you try to search for your Prefixes the proper way (through the dropdown box) it doesn't make it to the override because it sees the search has already been done recently and pulls up the result with every thread on your forum. I don't have the slightest clue about editting any of the XML or anything, but it's starting to seem like creating a permanent do=process link to Prefix Search results isn't possible with how it's currently written. |
