If you have alot of different fony colors, you don't want to have to create different spans and classes for each. Hence, <FONT> > <SPAN>

You can use inline CSS with span tags....much like you did with your font tag.

<span style="color: #FFFFFF"> Whatever </span>

So it's the same thing, and it's the same amount of characters. So you're argument is null and void.

You missed the <tr> tags and the code is not properly nested

There's only one <td>, therefore, the <tr> is not neccessary. Stick to php.

That's not true. In some broswers, the text will be pushed out of the table when you dont include the <tr>. It's also follows very bad coding standards.

I was testing my theory out by validating the page via XHTML 1.0 Strict, Transitional and HTML 4.01 Strict and Transitional - All said it was invalid without the <tr> tags
