I can't stand it when an attachment opens in a new window. it creates un needed clutter when you're just downloading a file.
if it were an image I'd understand but its meaningless if a new browser is opened just to initiate a new download.

its not annoying when your browser tabs, which gives the computer faster loading times of opening additonal windows to browse it.
