The best way to get this to work and this is what I have done -

Set up a test board with a brand new database and run it using 3.8.4. Use Impex and do multiple imports and bring all posts, threads etc across so it is all sitting in one database.

Close all but one domain (which will be the master domain) add the rest of the domains as addon domains.

In the vBOptions for IB Facades add the domains, which boards are meant to be showing for that domain and the style you want to use for them - click save and you should be good to go.

As the title says this is multiple forums running of 1 vB installation so those installing vB on other domains/hosting accounts is just plain wrong - don't be afraid to read the information given to you.

Check out the link in my sig to see this working (seem some are allergic to clicking the demo links posted by the OP) you will see a section on my boards that says SFI Network and there will be links to UK and NZ versions that we are working on - clicking on them will take you to their domain however it is still using the one board.

It's an option for mod coders.

Better it's marked unsupported than marked supported but with no support like a lot of others.

So people can test it, give feedback, and maybe even further develop it. It's also a nice clause which removes any guilt from not supporting annoying people who completely disrespect their work or cause.

Seriously, these people who post mods have other jobs and lives outside of this site. They're not paid to release stuff here and spend all day supporting it to people who generally don't even read instructions properly.

I was just wondering, has anyone got this to work with vB 4.0 Candidate 2?

EDIT: Oh I see merk_aus has it working on it.

Nevermind, i set cookie to "blank" and it seems to be working now.

for the CatID, if i set it to a subforum, it doesnt work, but if i use a CatID that is a child of the root, seems to show up.

Also, how do I get the title tag to change? The URL in the browser shows the other domain, but still shows the title of the main domain/site.

One way you could do this is open the template ForumHome on the skin you are using for the second url and look for:

Code:
<title>{vb:raw vboptions.bbtitle}</title>
Then just replace {vb:raw vboptions.bbtitle} with anything you want.

Not sure if there is a better way but that is all I can think of right now.
