More dangerous than smoking a cig - do u see people killing people and saying i dont remember it because i was under the influence of a cigarette ?
U dont see the police policing smokers outside factories do you yet they have to police outside pubs because of the amount of trouble that alchol brings.
Then we can go onto how much does it cost to keep all these drug users in their habit ?
Or what about Foreign Nationals coming to this country for operations then going back to their homeland - its all a strain
Even if i was to give up smoking tomorrow i would still not agree on increasing tax on smokes.Their is a lot of other groups that should be hit first.
Thats the problem with us lot - we all split into different groups baying for the other side to get crapped on (once again) - Instead of standing up and saying No More we had enough.

Are you assuming that I don't agree with you on alcohol just because I didn't address it? I agree with you. There should be far harsher rules when it comes to alcohol. I enjoy a night of drinking 2 or 3 nights a month, so don't think I'm one of those "preach what you don't know about" folks. Alcohol should be more heavily taxed, at least beer, since it's very cheap and easy to come by for minors. Also, there are some rules in place to help prevent the alcohol problem from becoming to big a threat to public safety. There are various statewide bans on certain high proof drinks, and there are national bans on other ones. The only reason I didn't get more general with my belief is because the topic is cigarettes and nothing else. It didn't seem to make any sense to throw in my opinions on other things. Might I also mention that cigarettes are not less deadly than alcohol, just more silent? What about second hand smoke to a childs' lungs? Sure, that's the person and not the cigarette, but that's the same rationale behind making wearing things like seatbelts and helmets LAWS. It's safety for all of us. Not just those that are fiercely defensive of their lifestyles.
