Doesn't 1024x768 mean 1024px wide since most monitors are wider than they are tall. Correct? That would mean the current 950?px width would adequately fit the 1024px majority of users.

lol, the only thing I disagree with is the width complaint. I browse from a 22in. monitor so the site looks better to me!
I use a 20" and a 17" dual screen setup, I rarely browse full screen. I prefer a small fixed width style for readablity.
I personally think the updates are a step in the right direction. That said, the changes here are always done with major flaws and i can only assume that because only one person makes these updates/implementations the flaws will always be there. This is where staff should collaborate and specialists in all departments should be working together when updates are done. From a designers stance, the styles and colours are terrible. The updates are flawed esp when tuning into fixed FM. The styles are all over the shot and not uniformed. Like i said, the updates I feel are in the right direction but they haven't been thought about very well.
It needs to be a team effort with a team that is specialized in the areas so we have a more user friendly visually appealing update.
Well, you know what happens when too many cooks are fixing the broth. Besides, coders seem to be fond of these minimalist styles.
I'm all for minimalistic styles, I'm referring more on the colours and the fact that there isn't any balance between High vibrancy tone colours and subtle based colours. It's, you'll be blinded so live with it.
I find that the "too many cooks fixing the broth" is a way of saying that you cannot collaborate with the team your are working with. And, last time i check, the staff do give the old age reply when people are suggesting is "staff are in talks". Anyway, I made the suggestion in the feedback area.
What about, two pairs of hands are better than one? Or have we forgotten that. Anyhow, yeah, let's go with that and see what happens.
