This is my first Mod, so please go easy on me.
Information: The idea for the mod came from various requests on the mod request section. I also liked the idea. So went through the process and compiled the codes that does the job. I am new to vB, and so not very familiar with the codes. So it is very simple and no option Mod. You have to manually change the ForumID in the plugin section. In future I hope to add a option in ACP so it becomes easier. For now, just Enjoy! Update: First major update is here. Now you can manage the forum ID from the ACP and can on or off the hack. And another update made. Now able to send the form as a PM. You can control the username from ACP and can use either Thread or PM or Both or None. I was busy with my forum recently, so could not provide the Update sooner. But I think I can be spared. New features see a reply mail being sent to the mail sender and instead of username in the PM, it uses User ID for flexibility. But doing this, I lost the multiple PM send option. I think I need to work on that a bit. But for now here goes the latest development. Features:
Projected Addition: (future update) Install instruction: ==> Import XML file (as product): AdminCP > Plugins & Products > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product] ==> Go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > vBulletin Options > Contact Us Thread Option and Change the options to your preference. Upgrade: ==> Simply uninstall the product and reinstall. Uninstall is must, since there are some changes in Phrases. Current Version: 1.2.0 Change Log: 1.0.0 - Initial Release. 1.1.0 - ACP integration. 1.1.2 - PM the Form to a staff. (then where is 1.1.1??? Simple. I don't like Nelson, 111 ) 1.2.0 - Reply mail to sender. Due to my work load, I could not check this version to the end limit. So minor bugs might pop up. I would like to see feedback so I can correct them. If you want to send the mail in HTML format, then you can use my other Mod as well, HTML Emails If you like this hack please click INSTALL. I am really not sure what purpose this hack serves without an email address included in the new thread/post.
No one else administrating or moderating can help respond if the Contact Us email is from an unregistered guest (which about 90% of ours are) and their email address is not included so that staff can respond to the inquiry. Otherwise, you are just creating a useless thread/post. Nothing here for me until you add that... it appears there are numerous request for the email address to be included in the thread, but it has not been added. Our regular members very seldom use the Contact Us link... they usually just PM us. UNINSTALLED |

Great mod, I've been using it for a bit thanks...
lately I've been subject to spam through it though.. I get about 1 or two every other day I have Q/A in place for registeration and also for Contact Us, box checked but still, they managed to get through this mod.. and it doesn't look like human from the look of it.. Thanks |

Hi Shishir,
thanks for the great addon, I really love it. Very good if you have more than 1 admin. Is there a way to remove the board title from the thread title? I know how my board is called and I want to have the title removed. Regards jluerken |

Would also be cool if all such contact us messages could be posted in single existing thread, rather than creating a new thread for each one. |

Change in the Plugin Submit Contact form as Thread line Code:
eval(fetch_email_phrases('contactus', $languageid)); Code:
eval(fetch_email_phrases('contactusthread', $languageid)); 1. contactusthread of Type Email Subject Text Code:
Contact Us Form - $subject Code:
Hello, the following message was sent to you via the Contact Us form by $name ( mailto:$email ). -------------------------------- $message -------------------------------- Referring Page: $url IP Address: $ip User Name: $bbuserinfo[username] User ID: $bbuserinfo[userid] Email: $email I don't know if there is an easier way to do it but this worked for me. |
