There are no new features in this release, it is simply compatability updates and minor bug fixes. There are changes to both files & templates, but no changes to the iTrader tables.

Description:
iTrader for vBulletin has evolved from Trader Ratings for vB 3.0.x which evolved from Buy/Sell/Trade User Rating System for vB 2.x. This is a rating system for when members buy / sell / trade items from each other (presumably on a FS section of your forum). It is somewhat based on the honor system since there is no automatic way to truly tell if they did engage in a transaction. iTrader came about because it was a pain to try and maintain a single thread listing good / bad traders and so far has worked out quite well.

Features:
  • Rate another member: Positive / Negative / Neutral
  • Specify in each transaction: Buyer, Seller, or Trade
  • Leave multiple comments about the deal
  • Dates & IPs are all recorded to prevent abuse
  • Specify a thread URL to the deal
  • Advanced URL checking
  • Display ratings over time
  • Filter based on Buyer/Seller/Trade/or feedback they left for others
  • Users can edit/delete ratings left for others (time based limitation)
  • iTrader Admins can edit/delete anyone's ratings (just incase)
  • PM notification when new rating or comment is left
  • Per-usergroup permissions
  • Lots of admin controllable options

Installation / Upgrade Info:
Read the included readme file, it explains everything.

Hi Jason,

Looks like a great mod!

Does it allow you to restrict the options so that only I can sell things?

The reason I ask is because I would really like to do that instead of simply using paypal buttons, as users will be able to see my feedback like on eBay, and have confidence in purchasing from me.

Cheers

Callum

Any update on when there will be top TR list? Something similar to the "iTrader Extension?"

Upgrading is just like the previous version (and any vB plugin)... You upload the files then upload the XML via the CP... Not complex...

is it possible to put in some old feedbacks. we had an old trade board with existing feedbacks. is it possible to create some feedbacks without any feedback-threads? so that the members have their old feedback status in the new board?
No, the system re-calculates out the scores in the user table every time a trade is done on their account. It's done because there are so many circumstances in creating/editing/deleting that trying to just pass the score and never recalc it would be a nightmare. Start everyone off at zero and they will build up a rating fast enough... I also do it to prevent overzelous admins or others from artifically boosting people's ratings.

Out of interest, what has been updated for 3.7? I have 2.0.1 installed and working fine with 3.7 with a few minor hacks, is it worth upgrading to this version or waiting for your final release?
Just minor little bug fixes related to the UI, but also the CSRF code has been implemented for vB 3.7.x compatability & security.

Someone else asked about installing on vB 3.6.x: You can remove the requirement for 3.7, but I do not know how it will respond to the extra variables with the CSRF code, other than that everything else is compatabile.

Our members arent quite sure what to do, and how to do it. But its very sexy.
It's like eBay... You complete a transaction between two people and they can rate each other to build up a reputation as a good trader (like eBay). It's based on the honor system to a certain extent. You can require they link a URL, and you can configure to only allow URLs from within certain forums, and one of the people in the trade have posted (or maybe created? I can't remember) that thread.

Edit all the usergroup permissions (all groups default to no access).
Go to your admincp -> usergroups -> usergroup manager -> Edit Usergroup (go through each of them and set permissions accordingly, it should be at the bottom of each page).

A "top trader" list is not on my list of priorities. There is really no point in having except for some person to sit there and stare at themself on the top of the list, it provides no functionality whatsoever... But I will get around to it when I get around to it... I'm also planning on adding other stats like "most ratings / rated within the past month" and stuff like that.

-------------------

If you have the problem with your forum being closed after you upgrade - Read Post #9 and #35

-------------------

As for an update, right now things are kind of on hold. I'm in the process of setting up my new server before I take it to the datacenter, hopefully first part of next week.

I'm trying to move all my websites off my current hosting company as fast as possible (because they have screwed me over one time too many). But there's a lot of custom stuff that has to be configured and installed, a major headache.

In the past couple weeks that has been where all my effort has been (which if they knew how to run their business properly I wouldn't be in this mess). First there was a major power outage, then I had to do a bunch of restores and repair work on the data because of corruption, then there has been ongoing DNS issues. They have pushed me over the edge in their horrible service so I'm jumping ship as fast as I can.

--------------

If you have read this far, then hopefully someone will reply to this comment:

What do you think about how eBay disallows sellers to leave negative feedback if a buyer gives them a negative? I was thinking about implementing a similar feature, so that if one user gives the other a negative, the other person couldn't retialite giving a negative too?

I've never actually had an instance where that has happened on my forum personally. Usually a member will dissapear after getting money from someone and so they leave a negative, but that member also ususally gets banned from the forum anyhow.

Hi,

I did have it previously running, but when I uninstalled it looks like its left the tables. This is good as I have my data still, however when I run the XML file I get the below error.

Code:
Database error in vBulletin 3.7.1:

Invalid SQL:
CREATE TABLE itrader (
rateid int(10) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment,
userid int(10) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
rateduserid int(10) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
rating tinyint(3) NOT NULL default '0',
buyselltrade tinyint(3) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
subject varchar(80) NOT NULL default '',
dealurl varchar(255) NOT NULL default '',
dateline int(10) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
ipaddress varchar(15) NOT NULL default '',
		  PRIMARY KEY (userid,rateid),
		  UNIQUE KEY rateduserid (rateduserid,rateid),
		  KEY rateid (rateid)
		) TYPE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=1;

MySQL Error : Table 'itrader' already exists
Also when I try and do it via the upgrade file, I get an error telling me tables don't exist. Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

Watson
