Profile Enhancements - gWoWChar - World of Warcraft Character Menu

What is it?
[hr]-[/hr]gWoWChar is a modification for vBulletin which allows you to display popup World of Warcraft character information in your forums posbit.

If there are significant bugs or simple feature requests I will do my best to release fixes. Some of my mods rely on fetching data from 3rd party websites, due to the unreliable results, my mods will require users to troubleshoot for themselves if they find the addon is not working for them specifically. I am offering my personal mods that work ok for me for you to use, I am sorry I do not have time to troubleshoot many user specific issues. Thank you for your understanding.

Features

• Allows your users to enter multiple servers and characters
• Links to either US or EU WoW Armorys.
• Templated so you can direct links somewhere other than the Armory if you wish.
• Manually place menu in postbit with $wowchar_menu
• Optionally automatically add to postbit*
• Shows formatted links on user profile profile.
• Unified profilefield compatible with gWoWEvents and gWoWRoster

*Automatic addition of menu may not work with all templates.

Installation

1. Download the latest version and upload all files.
2. Install the product.
3. Create a Multiple-Line Text Box User Profile Field.
   • /admincp/?loc=profilefield.php%3Fdo%3Dadd
   • Multiple-Line Text Box
   • Continue
   • Title: World of Warcraft Characters
   • Description:

     Enter one character per line.<br /><br />Format: US/EU|Realm|Faction|Name<br /><br />Example: US|Mal'Ganis|Alliance|Gryphen

   • Default Value: Leave Blank
   • Max length of allowed user input: 1000
   • Field Length: 50
   • Text Area Height: 6
   • Field Editable by User: Yes
   • Other options are optional.
   • Save
   • Look and see what the field name is for World of Warcraft Characters, example field25.
4. Fill in the gWoWChar configuration options.
5. That is all, instruct people to fill in their profile.

I seem to have a problem, I installed this uploaded the images made the feild, edited the options Manually put in the code to both postbit and postbit legacy and tried it on my Admin account...nothing...In fact if you go to the profile for me I have this showing up under my name

The user profile will display like that currently, I have not made updates to fix that for the changes that were made to latest versions of vBulletin. However, I do see that you got the postbit working.

I could be wrong in my assumption of what this hack would do, but I have the mod working on my profile but it seems only I can see it. Other members try to view it and the mouseover link at the bottom of my postbit doesnt appear for them.

Was this intended for the persons own personal use? If so I think thats kinda silly, I figured the point was to have easy access to your guilds character info with a simple click.

Ok, to clarify my problem some it might appear to be an issue with the users browser and or firewall settings.

At first I thought it might be a permissions error as it was only seeming to work for admins but then a few other members of the forums tried it in IE and it worked fine. Firefox seems to be the culprit however I use firefox and it works for me.

Could anyone possibly verify, confirm this and maybe let me know what I need to have them change or change or our site etc?

Finger78, it hooks the Reputation display to show up on the posbit when using auto insert. I suppose, if you have display permissions set on reputation it could affect postbit menu. However, manual insertion should work fine. It should not be browser dependant, it uses the same popup menu system as all other vbulletin menus.

nykshawn, the posbit display portion of the mod should work just fine in 3.6.7, it is working ok for me.

*edit* Deleted this mod until it actually works. It's not linking to the armory, neither is it showing up correctly in user profiles.

Well, the mod actually worked for what it was primarily meant to be used for, the postbit. However, fixes have been made for the profile display now.

I am testing it out on VB 3.6.7, but get stuck at this part

I see that the field is 5, but which options am I to configure? If I go to products and edit the gWoWChar product I do not see anything that would allow me to take note of this information.
