EZ Bounced Email Management for Admins Details »» | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
DESCRIPTION:
This mod will insert a special EZbounce link into the header of all emails sent from your forums. In the event any email bounces back to you, you simply click the EZbounce link and the Ezbounce script launches, which will modify the bouncing members settings to prevent further bouncing emails. It will also send that member a PM asking them to update their email address. This modification is known to work with versions as high as 3.8.x FEATURES:
Now, the next time you send a newsletter from your AdminCP, (so long as you only send emails to members whom have "Receive Email From Administrators" set to "Yes") you will no longer receive a bounced email from this member (because they are no longer being sent). And also, if you created a new usergroup such as "Bounced Members" and set this usergroupid in this hack's settings, now the members that have bounced can be pruned, sent reminder emails, whateveryou want to do with them! WHAT IF A MEMBER DECIDED TO CLICK ON THE LINK IN THE EMAIL HEADER? Most email clients don't show the email's headers by default, however in the event a member is slick enough to view their header and they click on this mysterious link, they will simply receive a no permission message since they're unallowed to log in to the AdminCP. ZIP FILE CONTENTS: 1 Product (2 plugins, a couple phrases & installcode which adds 1 colum to user table) 1 File HOW TO VIEW FULL EMAIL HEADERS: You might need to configure your email client to view full email headers in order to see the EzBounce link. Since installing the latest update, clicking on the link in bounced emails no longer loads the admin CP page - just a blank page.
It does correctly reset the "Receive admin emails", though. Suggestions? |

Did you uninstall the earlier version before installing the latest?
Did you set the path to your admincp directory in your settings group for this mod? |

Thank you for the update
I have just tested it but after testing: When received bounce email clicked the link and went to admincp and it moved the member to the required user group. Then logged in to that users account and added a new email. received message saying you are being moved but then it did not move me back to the original user group |

It sounds like you might have just imported the product xml WITHOUT uninstalling the previous version. It's absolutely necessary that you first uninstall any previous version, then install the new v1.3 product.

i was testing this hack to see if the member will move back to the original group. So this is what i did. I created another usergroup. Say Invalid Group with uid 20 for instance. I enabled the admin option to put bounced users to uid 20. I then created a test user for Registered Users (uid 2) group with a fake email. I later received a bounced message with the link to move that test user into the Invalid Group. I checked the database to see if it holds the old uid 2 and it did. So then i logined as the test user and changed it to a real email. Now vb automatically move the usergroup to the User Awaiting Email Confirmation group (uid 3) because it needs to be activated. When i checked the database, it lost the original uid and it became 0. So when i activated the email, vb puts back the user to the Invalid Group (uid 20). Im not sure but i think this is a bug. Else this feature would be nonfunctional. It suppose to put back to registered users.
