When vB 3.5.0 was firsted released, I started to code a vBSpace like project. I never got around to finishing it. I don't plan on doing it either, but here is a screenshot of what a vBulletin site could look like. This could maybe help with ideas.
waouu very nice look, just add profil comments, and little picture gallery and this where good for most people
I hope somewone make one, whis the new option in comming 3.6 the way is closer, cool
Stangsta: what the problem with the profil comments at your mod ?
I was actually thinking about doing this myself and i believe i will be starting tomorrow. Me and ChrisM were discussing the topic and how it's not so hard at all really and how it shouldn't take this long for a vbspace (no offense, i'm sure it's a great product). However, seeing as there is a great deal of commotion with vbspace, he just asked me to go ahead and make one. Not wanting to step on anyone's toes here. However, it just seems like the easiest thing to do. I actually did something like this with 3.0.x and sold 66% of the site shares. However, if i do proceed tomorrow, it will be a script.
You will have customers for both should/when you or anyone else deliver.. We've been teased for so long I think most of us might cut off a finger for a serious (stand-alone) system.
For those who may be untested in a joint/team effort, maybe you all should discuss designating a project manager for this venture?
True, but on top of that, i have some ideas and some small myspace type projects i was looking into like searching - special music band section and others...not gonna say all as im too.....yep said too much
"special music band section" - it would be cool to see a generic section that can be used in multiple instances. Example: bands, movies, books, If it's generic then people can easily modify the section to fit in with the theme of their site.

If all you guys could work together (not always easy) it would be a more effective use of time and we'll probably see a more robust mod at the end of the day. It also means that there's a bigger group of people to support the mod when forum owners have a problem.

Yeah I'd love to see you guys getting 'the show on the road' by starting to develop this mod as soon as possible

Messing the the zoints thing I beleive all the features are there that everyone is looking for an an easy editing for the users with the drag and drop, and color selection. Minus the centralization and it would be killer if possible to for another team to do this.

Drap & Drop hasn't been very efficient for my members unfortunaetly...

Keep it simple
Agreed, too much AJAX isn't always a good thing. There are times that page loads can actually be beneficial, at least you know you are waiting on something.
We plan to have a simple solution at first beta and add to it with releases, this way the product is out faster and tested as we go.
The main interest is what people feel they need in the first release. Please keep it to what 'need' not to over kill the time to get this out for the public.
