Description:
This is a basic hit counter. It uses a little php script and a text file to store the hits (no DB because it would be too stressful). Also you dont have to display the hits on every page you could just put it on your forumhome template, and it will still count all the hits

Installation Instructions:

Download and unzip 'plugin-pageviews.zip'
Upload the folder 'Counter' into your forum directory
Now open the 'Counter' folder, and CH MOD 666 the 'count.txt' file
Install the plugin
*Optional* If you want to be able to display the page views for today just create a Scheduled Task like this:

Title: 'Page Views'
Hour: '23'
Min: '59'
File Name: './counter/counter_daily.php'
Place '$pageviews' and/or '$pageviewstoday' in any template where ever you want to display the hit count.

FAQ:

Q: Where do I put the '$pageviews' thing?

A: Well... If you dont know how to do this then ill just give you a standard spot to put it.

Open up your footer template

Then Find:

And replace that with:

Why do you do this with txt files? It would be better to store these values in the database

because why would i want to add 1 query when i dont have to. (plus for me thats like 60,000 a day to my poor database)

I've installed as the guide says, but it's not showing up on my pave, I have vB Advanced installed too, would that prevent it?

no vbadvanced would not mess anything up.

make sure you installed the plugin, and set CHMOD 666 to the .txt files.

If you installed it correctly, there is no reason it wouldnt be working. This is a very basic php script.
