Keep your money. Mine is fixed. Here's how I fixed it.
I took a fresh copy of member.php and reapplied the hack. This time, I did not use the css navigation. It just required me to be a bit more awake and careful. Amy |

I dunno why, but when I re-downloaded a fresh copy of vb 2.20, and did the members.php update from scratch minus the css stuff, it now works. Go figure. Whew! Thanks! |

Evil,
I had the exact same problem. You need to do what I did - start over with a fresh copy of members.php and DON'T use any of the css stuff. It worked like a charm. |

Edit* Well I went on by myself and installed the hack from a few pages back.. Problem is, I don't see thet pull down to select catagories. I didn't use the CSS or the jump like I read from previous posts... can anyone help me? |

**Edit - I don;t think I edited any of the templates except the one in the install.txt ..... There are other text files in the zip I didn't touch those. Could someone walk me through it or something..? |

Hello ...
vb 2.2.1 can't find this in index.php ----------------------------------- 4. Then modify "index.php" it the following way: >>> Search for: __________________________________________________ __________________ <?php maketableheader("Avatars"); ?> </table> <a href="avatar.php?s=<?php echo $session[sessionhash]; ?>&action=upload"> Upload </a> | <a href="avatar.php?s=<?php echo $session[sessionhash]; ?>&action=add"> Add </a> | <a href="avatar.php?s=<?php echo $session[sessionhash]; ?>&action=modify"> Modify </a> ---------------------------- what can i do for that ? regards |

I'm having the same problem Any help would be much appreciated!
This may be the pertinent code that I see in my file (?): (I'm a newbie, so please ignore anything I say that's really stupid!) makenavoption("Add","avatar.php?action=add","|"); makenavoption("Modify","avatar.php?action=modify", "|"); makenavoption("Upload","avatar.php?action=upload") ; makenavselect("Avatars"); Edit: I think I got it! For You, try using the instructions/download that Syphin posted here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...&pagenumber=11 It's working for me so far It's my first hack though, so I'm sure plenty could still go wrong! |

This hack had been working fine for weeks, but now I have some major problems. I added some avatars last night, and then when I tried to do more this morning, I got this error:
Database error in vBulletin Control Panel 2.2.1: Invalid SQL: INSERT INTO avatar (title,minimumposts,avatarpath,avatarcat) VALUES ('Monster','0','images/avatars/Buffy the Vampire Slayer/monster.jpg',3) mysql error: Duplicate entry '208' for key 1 mysql error number: 1062 Date: Friday 28th of December 2001 05:24:55 PM Script: http://britpack.com/forums/forums/ad...atar_categ.php Referer: http://britpack.com/forums/admin/avatar_categ.php So, I checked over the files and I've been having a problem with the last few lines of my files being cut off, and my member.php was like that, so I added the missing lines and uploaded in ASCII. Now, when I even go to my main page, I get this error: Database error in vBulletin 2.2.1: Invalid SQL: SELECT user.avatarid,avatarpath,avatarrevision,NOT ISNULL(avatardata) AS hascustom,customavatar.dateline FROM user LEFT JOIN avatar ON avatar.avatarid=user.avatarid LEFT JOIN customavatar ON customavatar.userid=user.userid WHERE user.userid='1' mysql error: Can't open file: 'avatar.MYD'. (errno: 145) mysql error number: 1016 Date: Friday 28th of December 2001 05:46:05 PM Script: http://britpack.com/forums/forums/ Referer: Can anyone help me? I have no idea what to try next. Does anyone know what this 'avatar.MYD' file is? |
#183
|
||||
|
||||
Well, I ran admin/repair.php which (or so it says) repaired the avatar table.
But I got this from it: Checking table template: Table Operation Type Text britpack.template check status OK Optimizing table template: template optimize error 28 when writing to datafile britpack.template optimize status Operation failed Now the problem is that I'm now getting this error: "There seems to have been a slight problem with the database." without any specifics on what the problem is. And where I could before get into my admin cp, I now can't. Arrrggghhhh! EDIT: Okay, it is the template.myd that's causing the problem. Anyone know how I can manually re-create that table? |

I need help too
I have installed the hack on my vBB 2.2.1g and there are no errors BUT I don?t can define ANY categories! There is just no option for it! I used the css version (normaly CSS works for me (IE 6.0.2600)) What?s the problem or do I missed the solution by flying over the replys?? Greetings StarBuG |

Could somebody redo this hack (no offense) for v 2.21. I installed it last night, then uninstalled it, and installed it again. Same thing as StarBuG. I can't define any catagories, and in the user CP where they pick an avatar, there isn't a dropdown box or anything.
This is a great feature, but it doesn't work for 2.21, which I think a lot of people are using. Thanks. |

|
||||

It works perfectly well for 2.21 providing you follow all the instructions.
A common mistake that is made is that some don't add the new templates which come in the .txt files. As long as you add all of those and have followed everything properly it will work |

I did all of that the second time, after realizing, and it still doesn't work.
Matt, could you sign on AIM and help me? Thanks. Haven't seen you on lately. |

ÄI´m not a newbie in hacking my board!
I hack my Board nearly every Day and I have done everything as you said including adding the new templates! There where no errors but I can´t define any Categories! Maybe there is something wrong with the CSS Style cheets ??? Greetings StarBuG |

With a little help from Matt (a lot) I've rewritten the install file for v2.21 of vB. I did this for a friend of mine, and deleted all CSS-Navigation instructions so I wouldn't confuse them. All you really need from this new version is the admin/index.php changes. After that it's the same as before. So if you use CSS-Nav, use my version up to admin/index.php, and after that the regular one.
Hope this helps. IM me if you need help (names at the bottom of the file). Credit DEFINITELY goes to Matt and Bad Madman. Thanks. This works fine on my boards (coming soon). |

I used your "new" install File (the only change you made is that you translated the admin/index link in new 2.2.1 code right?)
AND the problem is still the same! In the Admin Panel I can´t create any Categories cause there is no option! See the screenshot |
#192
|
||||
|
||||
And in the member.php the avatars are not listed so I can?t select any!
see screenshot! I took imgs from the icons folder to test. Sorry it?s german Any suggestions?? Greetings StarBuG |

I'm not sure then. Try PMing Matt, or see if he responds to this. He helped me. He may have done something else I'm not sure of. Can't think of what else to do. I'm also not that great at PHP anyway.

Checking what Matt did for me. He edited something in the Options link on the CP.
Click the Options link, the on the two column list, click avatars (or scroll down) and make sure the Show Up Avatars Catagories is clicked yes, and Show Up Not Catagorized Catagories is yes, and Avatar Catagories Permissions is no. See if that helps. Checking for more. |

Matt, what all did you change from what I had uploaded? That way if I need to install this again for some reason, or help a friend I can. Thanks. I noticed you exported something in tbs.php (template backup system). What was that?
|
#197
|
||||
|
||||
LOL! I didn't change a single thing you just hadn't followed the instructions properly
The only thing we changed was the code you replace in admin/index.php to update it for 2.2.1 |
#198
|
|||
|
|||
Oh. LOL
Why did you need to go into the tbs.php thing? That's not needed for this hack (since it isn't a regular file unless installed). By the way, MY .COM FINALLY WORKS!!! |

Matt!
Sorry I can?t give u the URL cause I have the hack installed only on my webserver not online (this is my normal practise so if anything goes wrong the online Board is not down or anything! ) and my Board is not for Public view! But I can send you the files and the templates as txt files if you want! Just give me your mail addy via pm and I?ll send it to you! I have done all you said in the install file and the categories are just not there! Maybe don?t using the CSS is the solution?? Or any other suggestions? Thx for your help Greetings StarBuG |
