Admin Log In As User
About this hack:
This hack allows any admin that you set in admin permissions, to log in as any user. You have to go to the user's profile page and there will be a link to 'Log In As This User'. Also, there is a link the drop down menu in the ACP User Manager. If you are logged in as another user, you will get a message on top of the forum saying, 'You are currently logged in as another user. Click here to log back into your account.'
This hack is very easy to install. This hack has only the admin yes/no option. Just install and it's ready to be used!
This seems to have clashed with advanced forum rules as the place where the login as user is supposed to display is missing where it should be but the advanced forum rules is present.
I can still get in via the acp and its working just fine. just wondering if anyone has a suggestion about moving the location of the link in the usercp
I just learned of this plugin today and I have to ask why would you need to log into a user's account unless you were up to no good?
With all the bullcrap mistrust board owners go through these days..
Is it any wonder why this is happening with plugins like this and the read pm's plugin??
Just because you can do something (create a plugin like this) doesn't mean you should..

No one asked or cares whether you think this mod is necessary or not- or what you think of the coder for writing it.
This mod isn't used by us to spy or snoop on users. It is used to help users log on when they have password troubles, to figure out if they can access certain features, to adjust their posting and other settings. With this, we can see exactly what error messages the user is seeing.
We find this extremely useful. What isn't useful to you might be very useful to someone else. But either way, don't disrespect others' hard work or ascribe some malicious purpose to someone's work.

Every single major website or corporate website has the ability to access users or members information. I have called on many a company from banks to local companies with certain problems from time to time. They respond with "wait while I access your account", etc.
This mod isnt used to give permissions to moderators or even just administrators (at my site), just one super admin.
And yes, it is all about ethics. Website operators that have ethics, have a reputation of being ethical. Its why my site is going on its 9th year. I dont play that way(unethical). I play straight. And my members know that and have come to expect that.
It does work... Maybe you are not seeing it? Go to the users profile if its activated you should see the login as user in the left panel of their profile page!
