Whenever you see smilies it means an "unknown error" has occurred. First thing I would suspect is your custom style. Second would be another mod. You're going to have to try disabling them both.
ok, ty for ur time! I want it but not worth breaking it all down to find the cause lol. I'm just glad I know Im not going crazy for not seeing the edit button lol
I recently added a new rule set and attempted to apply it to a certain section but when testing the rule acceptance I was able to enter the section without accepting the rules. This is with my demo test user account, not the admin account.
see I don't have an "edit button" lol this is what I have a bunch of smilies when I click manage rules
same here...

I use vB4.2 with standard style. And i think it's quite impossible for screening which mod is responsible for this error.
I've just been informed by my co-admin that a lot of new users are showing as having accepted the rules on 12-31-1969. But not all. His words: I wonder if there's a hack going around for this mod?
Problem still not fixed nor addressed, although brought up by a few people.

I just noticed this on my forum, as well. It's the first time I've seen this with a new member.
I'll look into it when I find some time. Please be patient.
Thanks for your efforts! I hadn't heard much about this again so I asked my coadmin and he says these people aren't posting, so maybe it's not a pressing issue.

It's still happening. However, it seems that only registrants accepting the rules on current date are posting. Perhaps those showing rule acceptance in "1969" aren't being granted posting privileges?
