At the moment there are a couple of template modifications that will enable this.
It isn't a "upload and install" mod, yet it works superb.

My board has them installed at the moment, check it out so you can get an idea.

Any word on how to get the smilies to appear in the visitor message reply box or album comments?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found a hack that does this automatically.
