I've installed and tested it.
One Qustion: There are the statusicons which display wheather a user has already read a topic or not. However there seems to be a difficulty with updating the statusicson. When a user reads a topic and returns to forumhome then the topic he has just read is still marked as unread. If I mark all forums as read then the status icon switches to read. But this is not very handy and most users will have difficulty with this. Is there a solution to improve this process? Thanks. |

After further testing it becomes obvious that this module should include the functionality which displays a small icon in front of the thread title in case the specific thread carries a new unread post. As soon the user reads the thread or the post this icon should disapear. Similar to the latest threads mod in vBa CMPS. This is a very simple process but highly effective for users, because they directly see what they haven't read yet without having to keep post times in mind.
This small addidtion would tremedously improve the user experience. @ Cyb: May it be possible for you to provide me with a feedback whether this improvement is a doable or not. Thanks, etterra |

"unread" means that there are posts created after your last visit.
When last visit time is updated then threads are marked as "read". It's how this works currently. |

Thanks for the response.
I see a disadvantage in this in terms of the user experience. Because the last visit time update is not real time. Regular posts in vB 3.6 use the database function for the read topics and as soon a topic is first viewed it is marked as read in the forum topics overview. My users are used to this behaviour. The disadvantage from this hack is, that the intution is lost and users don't directly see which topics they have just read and which they have not yet read - in the current session. Are you interested to extend this hack with this functionality? I'm willing to pay a little to support your development expenses. Thanks, etterra |

You don't need to pay for it. I'll update this when I have some time. I can not say atm if it will happen tomorrow, or next week, or next month,...
