If it is in fact based on releases, perhaps the title should reflect this, just as the user titles now do.

Actually, since they are staff, it should be their obligation to release on a regular basis high performance hacks, tutorials, examples of more robust vBulletin code... in one word, hacker work. I did not see anything like that recently, however it was done in the past. Is a matter of being motivated to do it. I know for a fact that I don't do freebies anymore, so I understand that others don't feel like doing it for free also. Into my eyes, a decent hack would be for example.. executing 5 queries less on every vBulletin page. Yes it can be done and it's very easy on top of that... it does involve only 2 small edits to the vBulletin files. You give me a good reason why I should give that for free to people, instead of charging at least $1,000.00 per client project... and I will do it. Anyways, back on track. Cybernetec, ya he has hacks with over 1,000 installs. However, only 6% of the total users participate in the forum discussions. Talking about active hackers who release decent code for users? I would say 0.00001%. Hackers used to have over 1,000 installs when the total number of members were under 5,000. Now they are at 200,000. So showing over 1,000 installs is like not even 1% of the total users. To calculate the percentage is very simple, you have the information on your frontpage: Members: 197,530, Active Members: 13,159 |

Nope, I don't use the datastore cache at all (for the examples listed above).
I dont like to add more bandwidth usage to the server, since the datastore is cached with memcached. |

If you use memcache, you are using a datastore cache
But that is really getting OT. |
