Video Club
Fetch Videos from many Providers with URL since ver. 1.2.0 you can also embed any valid video code
Things to know !!!
If your site is SSL and you try to show a video from a non SSL site, video should not works.
If you can't show YouTUBE videos, most probably your API key is wrong. Be sure that you've setup correct the API key and it is ver. 3. Here is a good tutorial.
If you see strange characters in the text, the problem is character encoding. Even in English, if you're using iso-8859-1 but the video provider uses UTF-8 should have some problems. But you can edit the text, so not so important issue.
Demo Installation
demouser1 / demopass1
demouser2 / demopass2
demouser3 / demopass3
PS: In my demo I've setup Disqus as commenting system. But it's up to you to setup Threads instead.
1.- What's this?
Video Club is a Video Gallery mod for your community. It's easy to use and has a nice interface. User just needs to enter a link to the video and set a category. All others done automatically. For comments supports Thread per video but also the well known Disqus external commenting system. I strongly recommend you to use Disqus as it's very social and soon you'll see an increment amount of pageviews.
2.- Video Providers (Websites)
5min.com
Blip.tv
Break.com
Collegehumor.com
Dailymotion.com
Funnyordie.com
Gametrailers.com
Hulu.com
Justin.tv

Vimeo.com
Screen.Yahoo.com
YouTUBE.com

Upload all files from upload folder to the folder where your vBulletin 4.2 is installed
CMOD 777 the directories
videoclub/thumbs
videoclub/thumbs/tmp
Login to your admincp and import the file product-videoclub.xml

Set the Categories
5.- PRO Version
After many years I decided to use PRO version not as a way not to earn money (I don't expect to have more than 10 sales), but rather to find a way to pay for some commercial scripts that I want to use in the PRO version (Distribution License). The follow features will be in the PRO version:
Extra Providers
Facebook
LiveLeak.com
OpenLoadMovies.com
Videoplayer with support for prevideo ads
Better carousel for latest videos at top
Video search in multiple providers
Many notifications
Brand free

Now, I'm still looking for where the designated moderator "approves" the uploaded video..
I've checked all moderated areas, inboxes and the main Video Club page, but I see nowhere does that moderator get a message to review and click on something to approve a video.
Thanks again..
Regards,
Doug
Maybe if you look at the most designated moderator area "Modcp"?

Wow!!!
I've never used that before and I can honestly say I would have never found it...
Why does this option not appear under the AdminCP area and for example, the options for Video Club that appear there?... or, under any of the "Moderation" approvals either in the AdminCP or on an Admin's "settings" page where they can also be approved... not important, but just curious as to the design reasoning...
Chris.. I can confirm that video review and approval, followed by a PM to the member who uploaded it, appears to work fine..
Separate thought on new features....
I can visualize a lot of members posting their videos to the wrong category....
If there could be a way for the Admin to EDIT and change the category a video was posted to, that would go a long way to help keep the Video Club library organized well. Other that that, I don't see a way of correcting mistakes like that ...

There are no hooks (places to add code) in Admincp and Modcp so the "First comes, first serves, last comes, last serves" exists
In my old sites I was having this page in frontend. But as most user wanted to follow vb standards, I moved it to modcp.

I'll see what I can do for this. Maybe in modcp when moderator approves them to be able to edit the category.

Thanks....
The best place would be at the main Video Library home screen where an Admin would notice that a video is clearly in the wrong category and he could then simply move it to the right one ..
You still have a problem importing videos with special characters....
You fixed the one where the Youtube description had "xxxx" quotations marks around words in it, but now any description that has a ' (apostrophe) seems to break the title import.
ie: Curator's Corner: British SMLE comes out just as Curator
