Shoutbox Hack 1.04b

11/09/04 - Version 1.04b. Just an installer upgrade, nothing more. Nothing to see here, move along.

10/22/04 - Version 1.04a released. This is not an upgrade from 1.04. If you already have 1.04 installed, don't worry about this. This release just updates the installer and fixes any errors in it. If you had problems installing it last time, this should work better. If you need support, posting it here may get it answered, though posting at the board at GeekyDesigns.com is prefered.

This is the same hack formerly released by Link14716.

08/29/04: Shoutbox 1.04 is released, featuring a new installer system (using the Hack Installer System) and redone templates, as well as a few bug fixes. Enjoy.

Dont forget to click install!

Install Instructions:

NEW INSTALL/UPGRADE FROM 1.03 to Current
 
 1. Upload the contents of the 'upload' folder to your forums directory.
 2. Run http://www.yoursite.com/forums/install/hack_install.php
 3. Select "Shoutbox Hack" and then follow the instructions to install.
 4. Follow the directions in the readme files when it gets to that step, then finalize the install (by clicking the last link in the install).
 5. Enjoy your shoutbox!

Matrixgl did a template modification to make the shoutbit more like its vB2 counterpart and released it (tested on 1.03) here.

Hmm, hadnt noticed any new posts in the thread for abit,

Impulse I don't think so but we will conisder adding it to the next version

for template and file modification step, there is no readme file was fond. The ifram displays nothing during installation.

Got this installed and working and formatted rather well on our second attempt. Just took some editing for our style.

We are however having a problem with posting to the shout box. When we post the redirect does not work, it goes to a server message that the page has moved and you have to click a link. It does redirect on posting an edited shout though.

All of the other redirects work fine.

Any hints?

Well I've posted here and at your recommneded site and got no replies.

I figured ya moved on. I got parts worked out but need a hand. Specifically the input box controls on the main shoutbox.php page not working, but working on any other posting page.

I figured the work was worth improving on amoung those of us that want to use the code.

It is supported however right now we are trying to get the next version of ucs out as it is abigger priority, I have poked matt about the support he should get to it today or tomrow and look into the bugs / fixes
