Filburt1, if you will notice, I DO NOT have any advertisement in my signature. I stay with the www. Buyt I see tons of advertisements in signatures all over this site and I see nobody doing anything about those.

You need to re-read myself and Erwin's posts, please. We never said anything like you're advertising in signatures. Also with my emoticon I clearly meant it as a light joke.

If you see a user who is in clear violation of the signature rules, contact myself or another moderator, please.

I am confused as to why promotional language in an image isn't allowed but in text it is. If a mod can have a link to his paid hacks (recently it very clearly said "link to free hacks, link to my paid hacks) and text about a paid hack to be released June 1st, then other people should be able to promote in their sig lines in text or in images.

I realized that the sig in this case was too large and promotion was not the problem. I am addressing the rules themselves.

Promotional language, as we define it here, are words like "cheap", "competitive", "discount", "best", etc. My sig and for that matter, the sigs I've seen here, don't contain that language. The thread starter's sig was suspended for image violations (not by me, either), not advertising.

I understand why the thread starter's image was suspended.

So let me get this rule crystal clear.
1. We cannot advertise services or hacks in posts BUT we can in our sigs if we don't say we are the cheapest or best. So, what you are saying is that I can fill my sig link with advertisements to paid vbulletin services and you all will have no problem with that?

2. I want to hear an admin clarify that rule please. And if it is clarified in this thread, I would ask that an admin start a new thread explicitly making this declaration of the advertising rule. A lot of people have bent over backwards to not advertise their wares and are getting mighty ticked off with you filbert because you advertise so constantly.

1. Provided that they are not in competition with vBulletin's official services and you are merely mentioning that you offer them, then I believe you can do so.
2. I understand the situation. However as I have mentioned numerous times already, us mods are already discussing the matter in private and in fact should have an announcement soon. Until then, I think I should close this thread to avoid any other confrontations. Nothing personal but now that the thread starter's question has already been answered I really don't feel that this thread serves a purpose anymore.

If you have an important comment to make that could change the announcement, please PM me or another mod, but you can definitely trust me in the sense that both sides of the debate are being addressed thorougly. Beyond that I can't reveal what's being said so far.
