Well, I got online today and found a quick note on my main site:
"We (Emulation64 and Emutalk) are currently experiencing problems with one of our vital servers. Please bear with us - we'll try to get normal service back as soon as possible.
The Emulation64 team"
After nearly a year of 100% uptime, since it was first put online, our dedicated forums server (in my sig) crashed, the reason is uncertain. The harddrive suffered from the crash and was unable to boot. The colocation engineers (TeleCity) were unable to find a solution to the problem.
My co-admin drove 300 miles to the colocation (Amsterdam) and picked up the server, and is now back and have just started unpacking it. Hopefully the harddrive isn't completely ruined, and we can recover some data. 2 new 40 GB harddrives (ATA133, RAID) will replace the faulty harddrive.
My forums had been online since November 2001, and had 6000 members, 10000 threads and roughly 120000 posts. The forums powered the main site, meaning both are offline (well, the main site is now a news site only) until the server is back online.
