vBulletinTemplates.com Coming Soon! Details »» | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
After viewing the countless posts both here at over at vBulletin.com, I figured it was time to do something about it. Most of the same questions are asked over and over so I feel opening a website dedicated to template modification tutorials would be a bit of help to those in need of a tutorial on how to do something .
Anyway, right now I am in the process of working on gathering all the current tutorials up for addition. I am going to be adding al the tutorials I can find on both vBulletin.com & vBulletin.org, as well as a few I may come up with (as well as any submissions). Note: If any tutorial authors have a problem with me adding their tutorials, feel free to contact me and I will not add them. Credit will be given where it is do, all I am trying to do is centralize things a little more than they are currently. Currently the website only has an introduction page, stating you can sign up for the mailing list (if you are interested in the website, I suggest you sign up as newsletter members will be the first to know about the opening of the website ). URL: http://www.vBulletinTemplates.com If you are an author of tutorials and do not want yours added, please contact me at webmaster@vbulletintemplates.com I hope everyone looks forward to the initial opening and will enjoy the new website . - SaintDog Show Your Support

@Unknown:
Last time I checked, my websites were doing pretty well, if you do not like the way I run things, do no visit my websites and do not comment on them. In what part of this thread did I ever say that people are going to drop things and stop using vBulletin.com and vBulletin.org and only use the resources availible at my website (I don't think I ever did)? The main point of opening vBulletinTemplates.com was to organize the template modifications availible. I don't know about you, but some people don't like to have to search through many pages just to find one template modification they need/want (right now I see requests for mods, requests for help, and the mods are scattered between those). As for BBAddons.com - last time I checked it was not just for vBulletin, not sure about you but I have been trying to add most of the more widely used boards to the website. If you think I change it way too much or do not like the way things are run, as said above, don't visit them, no one is forcing you to. As for the way the old BBA did back when it first opened, I don't see that coming back at all, nor do I want to bring it back. I have many comments saying that people like the way things are run now, better than before. I realize that vBulletin.com/.org are both official support groups for the vBulletin forum software. Last time I checked things though, people were not really complaining about me opening either websites, in fact many e-mails have came in about not only joining the mailing list for vBT (that shows someone is interested) but what a great idea both websites are (vBGFX & vBT). Sorry if you don't like what I am doing, but I will run them as I please. Honestly I do feel opening seperate websites will organize things more. Free & Paid should not be mixed, combining all website would be doing just that and would cause for more confusion. - SaintDog |

Saint Dog, I am really looking forward to the Templates site. As it stands today, I haven't seen a lot of original template work as of late, IMHO. Maybe this will generate some more released template modifications. :shrug: Seems like most template additions are requests as of late. I look forward to seeing template changes in pure form with instructions in an organized fashion. That's what I picture for the templates site after visiting both of your other sites. I will keep checking back and who knows, I might even add some of my own as I get up to speed. I think more resources for vB is a good thing, again that my $.02

Update
The design for vBT has been completed, the only thing basically holding things up is the CMS that we planned on using to manage the tutorials. Instead of displaying them page-by-page, we may be placing them up for download instead (ZIP files, you would then extract and follow the instructions in the ZIP). If you know of any good download managing scripts or CMS's, please let me know as one or the other is needed to complete the website and add the tutorials (in other words, this is vital to the website ). (yes, before anyone mentions it, I have checked HotScripts and really did not find any that functioned too well. I thought maybe someone saw something I did not ) - SaintDog |

After taking into consideration of just how long it is going to take for the CMS vBulletinGraphics.com was going to use (probably another 1-2 months for completion at the rate it is being developed), a thought crossed my mind and I need some opinions on it.
Instead of using the CMS, I would simply use vBulletin, which most people here are familiar or somewhat familiar with (at least I should hope ). There would be a section on the board for submissions we receive, bug reports/support for the template mods, ect...... What do you think of things being run that way? I need visitor/use input since you all are going to be the majority using the website Let me know your thought and opinions on using vBulletin & speeding up the progress (post here, PM me, or e-mail me). - SaintDog |

I like the way I did the interface for BBA, yet the database system being used leaves little for dicussion or support of the templates that are going to be added to vBulletinTemplates.com. The system BBA uses also does not leave much room for previews (whereas vBullein will allow both a before and after preview).
I would love to use the same tool as used on BBA, yet vBulletin may provide for better showing and downloading at this time, although it is still open right now . - SaintDog |

Update
The design has been completed and has been implemented into vBulletin at this time. The next thing on the list is to work on finding more template modifications (other than the few that have been obtained as of now). If you have made any sort of template modification and you are willing, please send them in to webmaster@vbulletintemplates.com. Just for those in question, template modifications are just that, as in they only deal with templates (no code hacking - Just need to make this clear, I don't want to give people the wrong impression). Thanks, - SaintDog |
