Sort of, but users can reply.

In practice, it'll probably end up with all the usual "learn to code and do it yourself" responses that have so damaged this community in recent years.

If a coder starts a thread and said "I'm creating a mod that does this and that, does anyone have suggestions on other options to add?", how is that going to turn into "learn to code and do it yourself"? It is a forum for coders to get ideas to add to mods they are currently coding themselves. They know how to code. So why on earth would we tell them to learn to do it themselves when they *are* doing it themselves?

That makes no sense in this forum Mark.

Why the need to be so negative all the time ?

How I can see it going is an argument breaking out over whether an idea for a mod shouldm include a certain something, and then someone - be it the coder or someone else - stepping in with "if you want that feature, go and learn how to codee yourself and add it in".

It has been happening too often on here, it's one of the reasons I don't post so much now, because when someone says that, either to me or someone else, I tend to retaliate.

Honestly Paul, I'm not trying to be negative, though it often comes over that way I suppose. I have no problem with vbulletin.org, it's a great resource, I think one or two people have appointed themselves as "forum police" though and they do spoil things a bit for others.

It would be interesting to see on how many ignore lists you are. Try to see things more positive. If you dont like how things have been going then consider that things are changing for the better and good things may come out of it.

I would spend some time wholeheartedly not caring. In a sort of nonplussed kind of way.

I do, when positive things happen.

I shall certainly see that when it happens, and people innocently asking for help aren't told to go away and learn how to code, or worse still, are told "the search engine is your friend" etc.

Quite why such people have to be SO unwelcoming is beyond me. This sort of thing never used to happen.

The forum is not intended to be used as a support/help forum and such questions should have no place there at all. The intention is to freely discuss new ideas not to have a nother place where people post support questions.

Sorry you have met the wrong coders on the wrong day apparently, honestly only two on here I won't speak to at all and won't even use their mods but enough of that just thrown in to say hey... to each his own and I bet some of those times they posted it with encouragement (some might have been the opposite) but Google is your friend and we would love to see you blow us out of the water one day with superior knowledge... not all members have time and most of us coders know this. Just keep posting and PM people with questions I get them a lot on here don't be afraid to ask the "nice guys" for help. That does not mean I might not have time to look into everything you send my way but that's how it is in real life too, mechanic might be too busy this week, have it up here first thing Monday morning etc.

I agree with you about tact on the forums but WE are no one's daddy, if anything the man that posted above me ^ would be the closet thing to a father figure role on the forums lol (We love you Marco ) so let's not get grounded and sent to the corner just yet by becoming too upset over people who don't deserve the time .

OK, back on topic... The Hatchery I LOVE it, a few new ideas later on after my mowing.. I have to go get that done now while it's cool otherwise I'll hate myself in a little bit!

S-MAN
