Members who are chatting in Flashchat 5 or 6
Developer Last Online: Nov 2023
This modification is no longer available or supported. Note: I no longer use Flashchat, and development and support of it at Tufat appears to have died in 2010. This is a simple display of who is currently chatting in FlashChat - on the forum homepage display. Note: This is compatible with Flashchat 5.0.x only, it will not work with Flashchat 4. * Flashchat 5 is no longer available - this should work with Flashchat 6, but this is not a supported option * The main features are ; 1. It displays the list on Forum Home with the "Users online" display. 2. The list view is collapsable, so you see just the number. 3. Users who should display as coloured or bold etc are displayed correctly (based on the display usergroup) 4. If you 'hover' over a username it will show the room they are chatting in and their status (away etc). 5. If the chat is empty, a simple "no one is chatting" message is displayed. 6. The option to record and display the Most Ever chatters can be enabled. 7. The ability to turn it on/off is in the ACP Options. 8. The ability to allow only certain usergroups to view the list is an ACP option (include or exclude groups). 9. The location of the Flashchat folder is an ACP option (Options are located in vBulletin Options > Who Is Using Flashchat). Unzip the XML and import into vB using the ACP Product Manager. Further Notes: This hack cannot display any bots in the chat, due to the strange way that Flashchat stores this information. I have no connection with the Flashchat product - if you have questions about Flashchat functionality then their forums are located here. Template Hook Please note that this modification uses the following template hook in the FORUMHOME template ; forumhome_wgo_pos2 This must be present in any customised template/style you are using, otherwise this modification will not display. This may be a bit offtopic, but is there a way to display partly of the chat room at the bottom of the forum? So they can chat from there right away with auto-login on their username?

Sorry, Flashchat+vbulletin (and this mod) are only supported if F/C is installed in the chat folder - not any other name, or sub folder.

Hi Paul, previously you'd given some instructions on how to place the members currently using flashchat info at the top of the forumhome page under the navbar. Would you mind doing that with this version as well? I've played around with it but I keep just getting the text without the box and it's all out of order. Having the the feature at the top, under the navbar, really helps bring more traffic into chat. Thanks. |

It seems to remove the display at the bottom though. No way to have both I guess? Anyway, is there any way for the text Members currently using Flashchat: 0 to appear in the same font/size as the Currently Active Users: 1 (1 members and 0 guests) field? The box seems to have a larger font now, same as the What's Going On? text. I appreciate it. |

root/forum root/chat Is that fine? Or does chat have to be installed in the forum folder? |

It must be in the forum.
i.e. root/forum/chat |

As I was uploading the XML for this mod (days after installing the flashchat and integration mod) the page refreshed and the following error message appeared:
Database error in vBulletin 3.8.2: Invalid SQL: SELECT COUNT(*) AS newposts FROM post WHERE dateline >= 06:47 PM, 05-29-2009 AND visible = 1; MySQL Error : You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ':47 PM, 05-29-2009 AND visible = 1' at line 1 Error Number : 1064 Classname : vB_Database MySQL Version : 5.0.51b-community-nt I don't really know what to do to fix this and I've been googling solutions for a couple days with no fix in sight. The board doesn't come up, members can't view the page, I can access the admin cp however. HELP please! |
