Per-Forum Age Restrictions on Posting Compatible: vB 3.5.x - 3.7.x
What does this do?
Like the title says, this modification will restrict users whose ages don't meet minimum requirements (set per-forum) from posting replies and creating new threads.
Installation 1. Import the Product XML file.
2. Set the minimum age required for each forum through the Forum Manager in your AdminCP.

Don't want to give away any trade secrets here, but that is commercial suicide.
One major way to make money from your forum is banners. Block visitors and you will be blocking roughly two thirds of your potential banner impressions (based on our stats of one third members two thirds guests on average).
And block visitors and you are blocking spiders so the threads in that forum won't get into Google.
Bad, bad idea blocking guests.
Not if you are just denying them access to that forum in particular.
I don' t think that this is commercial suicide for most sites. I expect this mod to be used by sites with little adult content.
Our site for example does not have any adult forum yet and we are still wondering whether it will have one in the future. I cannot imagine that blocking guests from such a section would have much impact on us. We would need to focus on adult content to make this happen and that is not what we intend to do.
Mine is the same way. I have mine off to guests, and on to members. But I dont want members under the age to view it.
I set it up to not allow under 16's into a particuliar forum then set up a test account (aged 8) then tryed to access that forum and it let me ...
Do I need to turn it on elsewhere or just set the age per forum?
Edit: Apologises it's working althou I'd prefer it to not let the user see the forum thread content at all..
Maybe show tham the list of thread but when they click to view the thread is denies then??
This works when they try and submit a thread or reply.
That's why the modification is called Per-Forum Age Restrictions on posting.

If you would read previous posts, it is your responsibility to handle how DOBs are limited on your board. You can easily force users to provide the information during registration and then disallow them from changing it themselves later on.
