Don't get ripped off with the memory. People try charging 130 for a gig. Newegg has it for $72.99

Honestly, I don't think I'll ever understand why people pay up to $500.00 for something that just plays music. $500.00 can build a pretty decent computer, which can obviously do a billion more things than an iPod can. As well as store a lot more music.
![]() Just cause it's portable? PSH.. there are far more less expensive mp3 players out there that do the job a lot better than my old iPod did. What a waste of money that was. :x Anyways, if you feel like blowing a lot of money on something.. I guess they "look cool". I would go with the PSP, just cause it can do a ton more, and is less money. |

Why the hell are you comparing a PSP and iPod? They're both very different gadgets - and are used for very different purposes. I'm sorry, but it's stupid to compare these for no reason at all.

Believe it or not, a lot of people where i live do compare it due to the fact that it's the holidays and they don't know which to get or ask for. Comparing their capabilities can always help.

For THAT reason, it's okay. As a present, it's probably more fun to have a PSP. But don't get a PSP if you plan to mainly use it to listen to music and watch videos.

I just sold my psp w/ 3 games and a movie for 250.... I am going to get an xbox 360 and leave the music to my laptop/stereo/ect crap.
I really dont find the need to listen to that much music. I often find myself on the am channels listening to local politics... ![]() |

For portable movies I would definately get a PSP if it and an iPOD were my only choices. The screen is larger. 2.5" does not make for a great viewing experience. Same with these new cellphones that offer video on them... the screens are too small for anything practical.
The iPod screen may be good for quick picture viewing but it is mainly a music player. The other features are really just gimmicks to get people to spend more money. In my opinion, the PSP is a more all around device which fits multiple needs. |

1 GB is what 250 songs? Multiple media sticks for different song lists. Don't know about the quality. Never really looked into the sound quality just going by what I can see any. Personally, I can't tell the difference between fidelity, hi-fidelity, Dolby 5.1 or THX except for speaker direction so it probably wouldn't make any different to me.
I have spent $500 on speakers for my entertainment center and $25.00 on speakers for my computer and really cannot tell any difference in sound quality. The entertainment center just has more speakers for more ambient noise and is capable of higher volumes without ruining the sound. Oh and you can get up to 2 GB of memory on the Memory Stick Duo. That is twice as much as a iPod Shuffle. Two of them take up less space than a Mini or a Nano. I should add that I don't plan on buying either. I don't like Sony's proprietary media formats and I don't like Apple restricting you to their music service only. I can see the business reasons for both but as a consumer I don't have to agree with them. |
